I honestly had sort of a 'meh' attitude towards the Tour this year, as I have the last few years, but this one is shaping up nicely so far!

Hell of a sprint finish on Stage 3. On what was looking to be an easy win for Sagan, Orica took control, rode the shorter line around the last turn, and Gerrans held off Sagan by less than half a wheel-length. It was a very good win by Gerrans, and smart riding by his leadout.

IMO, the Cannondale team failed Sagan. They needed at least 1 more rider at the front to set him up properly. As a result, Sagan was too far forward too far from the finish. Sagan's lone leadout rider faded early, and Sagan was forced to jump on Gerrans' wheel as Orica grabbed control in the final 500M. With one more strong leadout rider for Cannondale to keep control at the front, Sagan wins that stage easily.

It doesn't matter if I'm sore or supposed to be on a long endurance ride with the goal of keeping a lower heart rate. I see a KOM jersey and I'm attacking them and dropping them hard!

As a fat kid who gets dropped a lot on sustained climbs, I like to sit on their wheel until I can see they're tiring a little and then attack. I don't do it unless I know I can make it stick, don't want them to think they deserve those polka dots. But if a Clydesdale like me can hold pace it's almost more deflating to their ego.
