im tryin to get a good fuzz distortion but i still wanna hear the dry tone any suggestions

MXR Bass Fuzz Deluxe and Blowtorch both have a clean blend to keep your original tone and allow you to mix in as much fuzz as you want.

Gnomeratron VTF has a cleanish blend and is my favorite fuzz so I'll suggest that but it's hard to make a suggestion without knowing what kind of music you play and what kind of sound you're after.

Can you name a specific sound you're trying to achieve?

"slightly distorted" and "bright" are not terms i would use to describe any fuzz pedals I've ever heard.

You may do better with an overdrive with a blend knob. The T-Rex bass juice seems like it would fit the bill nicely.

I'd agree . . . The BDDI should be on your short list. It's too bright for my tastes, but, of course, your mileage shall be diff'rent from mine!

A fuzz can be mid-y to treble-y. You just gotta EQ it.

Lots have this. Most, in fact. Are you looking for a stereo split? I have a feeling that you might be looking for this sort of sound, where one channel is clean, and another is dirty.

Otherwise, I think you'll get a ton of responses with tons of different pedals suggested. Personally, I think my B:assMaster does a great job of letting the original signal through.

This is my choice. Tried the MXR, and it was just too fizzy/brittle for me. The Bumble is kind of organic and sweaty and greasy, like I like my women. I can't find another fuzz with a clean blend that I like better.

It might sound too easy, too obvious and too cheap for some people... but the EHX Bass Big Muff does a great job!

Ox fuzz kills everything. Its got the crucial blend knob. Super transparent fuzz.
