bought this bass around xmas from TB'er modulus_acacia. my first Squier, very surprised by how much FUN it is to play. not just for me but for anyone who plays it. buttery smooth. sounds amazing, it sounds like a piano.
on to the details....
70's VM body
77 VM neck
Nordstrand NS4JV pickups
Chrome flatwounds
new 250k cts pots (big ones, barely fit in the cavity), the orange cap (it came in the kit, it was 4x the size of the one that came out) and new switchcraft jack. at the same time i got a DPDT push-pull switch for the neck volume pot and wired everything for a series/parallel switch. my first soldering job. took a while and redid a few things since i pooched on the first go-round
bass string roller tree from Stewmac
Hipshot Ultralite tuners (had modulus replace them for me)
custom pickguard material (some sick prismatic cardboard box i got from a present. it shows light like a madman.
i love this bass. none of others (carvins/ibanez) sound like this or are just a joy to play. weighs in around 9lbs.
great flame on the back
glow-in-the-dark sparkly 70's star (covering a pickguard hole)
Gibson speed knob ? and 2 white strat knobs. Push-pull switch in 'down' or normal/parallel phase
knob 'up' or series
Light does SICK stuff to this paper. Glows like crazy!
close-up of the Nordy's and flats and some foam i stuffed down the rout. i like to see some of the innards a la the millenium falcon.
knobs n close-up of prismapaper pattern
stock bridge with some foam stuffed in to keep rattles down
her guts
here's what she looked like before coming to me
probably gonna do a custom waterslide next with 'ButterBean' in Fender script next but other than that, i think she's done
enjoy!
