Looks nice wanting to get me one but no one has them in stock to try out I played the 4 string at a shop but it had a shortage issue

I'm aware of the spelling difference but just think the name sounds goofy and don't think Fender did itself any favors if it actually paid for that name. To me its kinda like calling a lower end Ferrari a Butterfli or a Mermaide or a Swaan.

Lakland Sklyine, G&L Tribute, Warwick Rockbass (now that the hideous logo is gone) Sterling Ray and Steinberger Spirit all have a nicer ring to my ears. Of course its a matter of taste.

I also don't like going to Applebees because it makes me think about sweet stuff on my dinner - like cranberry sauce and the like (yuck).

Have you ever heard of anyone scraping off the logo on a G&L L-2000 Tribute or Lakland Skyline There ya go. Makes me wonder what the brand management folks at the big F are smokin.

It is all a matter of opinion of course.;)

By the way, what are we supposed to call a Vintage Modified after we modify the hail out of it??

Gotta go, I think the secret police are at the door.

Squier VM '77 Jazz Body, Squier CV Precision Neck and old set of MIM pickups I had lying around that I may upgrade, and I redid all the wiring. Although the pickups are acting funny, so I might have to open it back up and take a peek. I don't care for thin jazz necks, and the CV P neck is phenomenal! i kind of want to do a '62 RI control plate as well to fit the styling of the rest of the bass. debating.

it was really important to me to get one that had well matched grain, and i must say she is stunning in person. if anyone is on the fence about getting one of these, buy it.

i now have my 60's and 70's squier basses.

My P pickup has started cutting out, not a fan of straight J tone either, so I just ordered the EMG-PJX set, should be here early next week. Very excited about this mod. I'll be posting new pictures when its done.

I don't know if I am liking the "wood feel" finish on my Squier VM V. The CV that is a "vintage tint" feels more like nitro than poly to me. Its semi glossy, but still very smooth and not sticky. I might end up finishing my VM V neck with nitro, it just feels too bare. Anyone else had this issue? SurferJoe?
