My newest TOS turned out great.

ESP neck
CV Jazz body, bridge, and pickguard
Schaller tuners
EMG select pickups
Varitone circuit from Certainbass
La Bella tapewounds

I thought I had to take it to the luthier to fit the neck, but no, the pickguard (that was on the body) was the culprit for my not being able to fit the neck in.

This is the Mother of all MWAH. Thje only thing I would change is the pickguard that leaves a bit of a gap at the join of the control plate.

The only thing

Squier P bass, '83 MIJ. Refinished to natural ash, Hipshot D-tuner, Badass 1 bridge, Fender Black pickguard to replace the original white one.

Since posting this I got an ano gold guard, looks pretty cool IMO.
Also replaced the Badass with an original F-style bridge, and also also discovered the electronics are likely not original either.
Alnico PU, changed pots and tone cap. This thing really roars when needed, or can get all meek-like when really necessary.

Also think the refin might be lacquer of some kind, I can't stop playing the bass and the finish is really showing wear, as is the pickguard.

I really dig it. :D

Wow, a lot is going on here. Here is a reason for a lack of updates:
I have been pretty off lately with loosing my job unexpectedly in the midst of planning a wedding for this November. So my free time has been depressingly looking for a new job and trying to maintain a lot of stuff that is happening all at once. It started with me getting fired, and a lot of issues have been piling on top of that. So, I will hopefully get with updates, but needless to say its not a priority. In the meantime, I am thinning the herd of my Tricked Out Squiers including this one: http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f126/fs-tricked-out-squier-jazz-precision-neck-904677/. So if anyone wants an easy in, or just to help a brother out, buy it. I might have another sweet "rat rod" precision bass going up for sale soon. Painted flat black and hand pin stripped with old school hot rod red and white. Bad ass bass.

This is Ivy, a 2012 Squier VM Jaguar short scale.

This is how she started out
JagBass.jpg

I modded her to be more like her sister Triela (50th anniversary Jag)

Triela%20and%20Ivy.jpg

Home made pickguard, mint green material from Guitar Fetish
Added switch plate and switches, and upper control plate and controls. Painted the pick up covers. Added block inlay stickers. Changed tuners so I could repair a tuner on my 5 string. They are some unknown brand that a guy took off another bass. She's got medium GHS precision flats, 45-105 I think.

Controls work similar to a Jaguar guitar, except the tone controls are wired as normal, and the third switch puts the pick-ups in series (instead of cutting lows). Used all full sized CTS 1 meg pots. (I can give more details of how it works and schematic if anyone's interested.)

I still need to get a decal and refinish the headstock. I also want to put in a louder bridge pick-up.

I also have one of these in black (Pam) which I plan to mod to be more like my Black MIJ SE HH Jag guitar (Henrietta).
