Tricked Out Squier Club

lol awesome!
I love P/Js i feel so comfortable with them so I'm thinking about getting the squier one

I love P/s!!!!! Based on my experience wit my Squier P/J you shouldn't be disappointed. Even though I own several pricier instruments my Squier easily falls into the top 3 "favorite basses to play!"

I am in the process of modding, but I am making minor changes in the electronics dept. I really feel that the electronics on the Squiers can cut the mustard, I just have to replace a worn out pot, so I am replacing all of them. The other performance related mods are Hipshot tuners and bridge, and hopefully a brass nut (somebody please point me in the direction of a pre-slotted brass nut for a J-bass to save me the trouble of doing my own!). The Squiers really do fine w/o mods. Fender may have made a mistake with me by making the Squiers so nice. No way can I justify purchasing a MIM, CIJ, or US Fender for myself!

I just ordered my squier :D
When I outgrow it I'm gonna mod it to kingdom come lol

i never cared for the mb4....a friend was given one and it sounded good, but just not my thing.

I think I was really Jazzed about the quality/price point thing! I once owned a VM Jazz that I sold for, well I better not say, but lets say that the price was so good that I had it on CL and sold in less than 1 day!

The reason that I don't regret selling that instrument (damn good inst, btw) is that it funded the beginning of a whole new life, basically. I used the money to put a down payment on a Lakland 44-01, which I purchased from Dan Lakin directly. While down at the shop Carl, (the former shop manager) over heard me joking w/Jauqo III-X about working there. He jumped in and said "you've got the job"! I began working there 2 days later.

The rest, for me, is history! :hyper:

Anyone want to give me some input on what color pick guard I should put on my Brown Burst when it gets here? I was thinking tort, but after a bit of photoshop I didn't think it looked right. :hmm:

EDIT: I also wanted EMG pickup replacements for it but I don't think they make any 5 string Jazz Bass pickups. Shame.

I always have liked black w/3ts. Smoked plexi?

I emailed them, in the coming months they will release pickups for 5 string basses :D :)

wanted to add a few more of a Deluxe Active I tricked. I changed out the entire bass except for the neck and body. Everything went, all hardware, all electronics. Put in an Aguilar OBP-1, DiMarzio UltraJazz's, Sadowsky Pots n Knobs. and GOLD EVERYWHERE. Tricked to the max.

Tort, definitely (see Gord-oh's link). Word of caution: Don't settle for anything less than a Genuine Fender 4-ply, dark brown tort. Off-brands tend to be too red or worse, just a print of tort and not the real thing. Also, the extra white layer in the 4-ply just makes the colors pop. I can't say for sure, but this one should fit with little modification: Invalid Link Removed

I was debating this myself. Luckily, I had these pickguards laying around the house. I stacked 'em up, snapped pics, hope they help. Any of these look great on the Sunburst, IMO, but given the cream pickup covers in my case, I'm going with simple black - clean, classic, YMMV of course. ;) Hope these help...
