I'm really diggin' the matching headstock! :bassist:

The appliance paint I was thinking about is Rustoleum. I did my fridge with it and it seemed to come out pretty good. Is there a good cheap quick way to do a refin if you don't care what it looks like down the road? I just want it white and don't want to give up my bass for a month.

Reranch. You could do the quick route of roughing up the paint and doing the recoat from there without going through the stirpping process.

If you mean using some 220 or so, then that's more than sufficient for 'roughing it up' - but don't go any more course than that as you are only making more work for your self later.

Then there's the compatibility issue - I am not sure of ReRanch vehicles and thinners, but I know they have nitro, and that would not be good to try over a broken surface (if you broke into it too far) I feel.

Thanks. I like to avoid the stripping process whenever possible myself. If it's a girl doing it that's a different matter all together.:hiding:

Whatever your bass is presently coated/painted with should not be sanded too far into material that hasn't had atmospheric air on it, at least not for very long.

Crazing and lifting might happen. However, the best primer is really old paint - an old painter's declaration - and that's pretty much true today.

IF the material over which you are going to apply a new surface is a total unknown, either a small test-area or a total removal is the best answer.

I opt for the test area, since a total strip is too much work unless you in solitary confinement, under house arrest or in Camp Snoopy in the Adirondacks.
