Tricked Out Squier Club

The bridge is 4 1/16" - 2 5/8" - .5" and it was born Dec 10 2000. Indonesian Affinity with full size standard tuners as well.

We ARE talking a 4-stringer here - right?

I only get 3 3/8" x 1 7/8" x 5/8"
- to your 4 1/16" x 2 5/8" x 1/2"

---- on my P-Affinity. That's a huge difference.

The date on mine is Sept '09.

That 4 1/16" sounds more five-stringer to me.

That's my friend's 1983 Japanese 60's style Squier.
Fitted with a DiMarzio PJ pickup setup and two volume pots.
Friend uses only the P pickup, once a year he turns up a little the J one, bot it's never used alone. In fact, he'd rather remove the J pickup from the bass.
Quite a thing, unique as for now.

getting ready to completely overhaul my squier II pbass.
was keeping it simple (and cheap) until i got internet back.
then the shopping began....

drewfunk, thanks for the pickup idea.

sneak preview:
black and maple
stacked jazz in bridge
gold hardware: including bridge cover and thumbrest
tort pickguard

i think its going to be sweet. i found everything i need from one seller on ebay.
as soon as funds are a bit more abundant, ill get to work.

Hell yes! i love SQ's i am getting one tomorrow for 250$ :)

Well I have my 83 Squier with sunburst ash body, a Leo Quann II bridge, Pearl white pickguard, Hipshot Drop D. Just a statement if you guys don't mind. I picked up the Classic Vibe 60's p-bass and that neck is awesome and feels just like my 83's neck. Could you imagine that neck on the Vintage natural finished p-bass body. I would LOVE that sound, feel and playability. Just a thought.

Yep it's a 4 banger. I'll remeasure when I get home, but that's what I got last time

Swapped out the pickguard (was originally white) and knobs. It was in a bad state when I got it but I quite like the wear on the paint.

I'm thinking of swapping out the pickups at some point but I haven't decided what yet. I'm also deciding whether or not to put ashtrays on it or not.

I really like the bass though, it feels really nice and does sound nice.

Anyway, can I have a number?

Dan Atkinson has just posted sound clips of some of the most popular pups that you might find helpful: http://www.atkinsonbasses.com/library/

And YES to the ashtray and pup guard. Definitely. Interestingly, I've had all kinds of configurations on my Squire Jazz...

but I got the most compliments when I added the pickup cover.

Sorry for all the pics. Just wanted to make a point that pickup covers seem to hold a certain mojo that makes people notice ... if that means anything to you. I added them because *I* like the way it looks. Plus it forces me to play closer to the neck when I want that old school tone.

I've been waiting so long to be able to post this:

Just bought a Geddy Lee Jazz Neck on the local CL (for 175$ mint :O!!!!! pics to come!) and ordered in a custom pickguard from pickguardian, so I'm finally on my way to joining the club :D.

Will keep you guys posted!

I customised my squier California jazz bass. The only thing original about this thing is the body. I did a custom paint job that has since been further customised with the addition of a victor Wooten and Marcus miller signature. I put a badass II on it. Dropped fender customshop 60's into it and put in new tone controls. It's got a nubone nut, hipshot tuners, blue pearloid pickguard and everly B52's as the strings and it's an absolute dream to play!!
I absolutely love it and hope you guys do too!!
