Tricked Out Squier Club

Not modded much but... Dimarzio Ultra Jazz pups (Wiring done passive/active switch instead of slap switch)
Oh & do the very bright pink DR's count? ;)

You, sir, are currently in possession of my ideal bass.

Not exactly tricked out, but I've made small changes to my Squier Precision Standard Special.

Changed the knobs to Jazz style ones, and the bigger strap pegs that I like on all my basses.

I've also got to put some spacers between my bridge saddles so that my strings align with the pole pieces. My bridge is not aligned straight, so I had to push my G string saddle all the way down. Anyone else have this problem? Its annoying me because now I cannot just drop in a Gotoh bridge.

That is a plastic mirror pickguard that came with the Squier. It is supposed to be some Special Edition with a matching headstock. Its the same price as a regular Squier Standard P/J, so I got it instead.

I was looking for a P/J and the matching headstock won me over.

The spacers idea -

I just tilt my outer two adjusters to make them push toward the inner barrels and they are very stable. Do that by running the outer allen screws in a little and if you need to, the inner screws a little further out to compensate.

Iggy the dust there - I am playing my scales at the moment and took this pix.

Works for me - but I am an easy picker too.

I don't actually see any misalignment there, but you are there and I am here.

Still - I've seen 4-string p'ups on 5-ers and no problems in volume or quality of sound and I just gotta say that I'd bet a lot of money that they aren't anywhere near close to perfect alignment.

The misalignment is quite slight. Just a couple of millimeters off. Yeah, there was no effect on the sound. I guess I am just being anal. The bass plays great.

Thanks for the tip, Joe. I'm gonna give that a try.

BTW, thats the bass that I got instead of a VM Jag, it looked and played great and was significantly cheaper, so I took the plunge.

I think ya done good.

Very sexy - in a non-human way, of course.

Yup, with the Chromes. Weighed on a kitchen scale that goes up to 11lb. Its not the most accurate way to measure, but even if its off by a 4oz margin, its still win.

I have a little bit of luck with light basses, my EBMM SR4 is just a touch under 9lb.
