So how's about we discuss your feelings on the bass before your mods. I don't plan on mods when I get mine... well I'll get some correct knobs! How did you miss those hmmmm Steve?My Squier CV 50's. I know, you hate the "Fender" decal on the Squier....but I don't care, so let's not discuss it....haha.
Before or after installation?

Why do you think a 300 dollar bass should arrive set up like a 3000 dollar Lakland? Last week I was trying some new mim Fenders and the strings were half an inch above the fretboard! IF you buy from a seller with a good tech, you MAY get lucky with a well set up bass. Otherwise, you have to accept them as is. Why would you buy the bass without checking the frets first? If you were unhappy with the frets, that is a defect in workmanship and Fender would likely stand behind it and set you right after an authorized repair center evaluated it.
