Tube head under 800$

I picked up a clean, used 2005 made in USA SVT Classic for $800 about a year and a half ago. Admittedly, it took a little patience to find it, but it was worth the wait. I love it and regularly use it with two SVT 212AV cabinets or one SVT 810E. They can be found.

My Opinion 300 tube power is similar to 1200 solidstate. as far as clean headroom if you want distortion I'd go for AMPEG V4b less head room quicker to distort. if you want to keep up with a couple of guitar stacks you need (2)810: you need more speakers not more amp.

Have any of you tried the Eden 300 WTB? It's all tube. Got nice accolades from a namm show a few years ago but nothing since.
I see these pop up from time to time, and have been tempted to get one but haven't heard much about them. If I remember correctly they are fairly light for a 300 watt tube head like 55-60 lbs.

Edit: Looks like there's one on Reverb Eden WTB-300V

So with the vb4 we are talking 100 watts, I fear that getting drowned out by mesa and Marshall halfstacks
In my experience as a former V-4b owner, you'll get to pick one of the following problems with that head:
  1. Your bass sounds like a guitar (i.e. distorted with more midrange than low bass)
  2. You bass isn't terribly loud
  3. You have to use a bunch of huge/loud cabs
I would definitely not recommend it for loud bass, especially at the prices they're going for these days. As a couple of people have mentioned, old Mesa bass heads are getting cheap these days. You could easily pick up a 400+ for the kind of money you're talking about.
