so out of the amps i mentioned, "peavey" is the ultimate rig? i just dont believe that. skynard isnt known for their bass sound anyway. Rock band like, Disciple, U2, Coldplay, Radiohead
I get what your saying, there is a "feel" when playing through a tube amp. If I was in a position to purchase a new rig for touring I would pickup two Ampeg Heritage SVTs with matching 8x10s. A Designs Reddi DI would be a excellent backup, still retain the feel of an amp and full tube sound to the house.
^call B.S all you want jerk. this is america! im only talking two heads and upto 4 cabs. that dont total upto what i cant afford, i just want the best sound for the money in a reliable format.
This right here:

Really, from what the OP is talking about plus his attitude, could there be any other answer? How could someone who is obviously a major rocker play through anything but SVTs and a couple fridges? Anything else would be like riding a Honda to Sturgis.
How about a link to your band. If you are in the position to be playing arenas I'm sure someone on here would have heard of your band.
those acoustics are new? those look cool! thats what im thinking.. a wall of cabs and power
When I posted my noob question about a rig for an upcoming overseas tour,
I got lots of good answers, more than several opinions,
and from there could take that info/my experience/and some hand's on
to make a choice to send to the company who's picking up the tab for all that crap.
Never once had to call a fellow poster a jerk.
Were I the OP, I would go with one decent small(ish) amp, and get a sh*tload of cardboard cutouts to stand up proud and tall in the backline.
Just make sure they're braced or the wind'll blow over your 'wall of sound'.
OK - pet peeve. I'm sooo tired of hearing things like "it's all about the music, the music comes first, it's sooo shallow trying to prove something with all those stacks on stage' etc etc etc.
Go watch a broadway musical. Sure, you can sit in your living room and crank a bone chilling rendition of "Memories", but if you go see the play Cats, they BETTER be dressed up as cats, with makeup on, and stage props, etc etc.
Why should rock and roll be any different?? The reality is that it is NOT. The reality is that going to see an arena band and seeing tons of props on stage - from cool robotic lights to walls of stacks - it's all part of the show. Let's stop with this feigned "I'm too cool to be impressed with anything beyond the music" and get on with it.
The show must go on, right??
So Peavey is too lame to grace stages in 2013 but GC's house brand Acoustic stuff if right up your alley? Your criteria is confusing.
In regards to your stack, you want it to feedback? I can feedback my 410 no problem just throw some dirt in, without a pedal though I have never had feedback on my bass even with my old cranked SVT.
If I was in your shoes I probably wouldn't even be running a tube head, I am a big Fender and Ashdown fan though. I definitely wouldn't be running one 810 let alone 4 of them. If I had the massive budget your band must have I would rather have some open space on the stage and get some pyro going. So you don't want my opinion.
I am not going to ask you to reveal your band, I can respect you not wanting to say but how many roadies/trailers are you guys carting around? You must have a giant stage show to need 4 810 cabinets, even if they were just for image that is a lot. What does your guitar player run? 3-4 full stacks?
