I love my Tune Japan 8-string:

...although I might make new pickups for it eventually. Far off project.

Definately scraping my pennies to get one... my 4 string is giving me grief, trying to keep up with my praise and worship Team... at Church, they are used to the lows of the organ, so I think the B string would give me alot of flexibility.

Still wet behind the ears on the Bass (Less than a year) I do alot of following the keyboardist left hand... He stays in the lower range. But once I get a Low B, and some more practice time, I am gonna move him up the keyboard...LOL!

I have that same problem with my keyboardist. His left hand keeps on sliding down and I have to remind him that I am carrying the low end!!!!!:D

In this day and age in most churches you have to have a 5 at least. Especially if you are playing gospel or urban P&W. You can get by on a 4 but it really helps having a low B.

Picked up an Ovangkol 6 last saturday, I'm totaly in love with it. The electronics are NIIIIIICE!!!! Dont know how to post pics but it looks exactly like the one above. 18v system. I'm replacing the gold hardware, dont like gold hardware, replacing that massive bridge is gonna be a problem.

The bass sounds incredible for a bass in that price range. Mine has an 18v system with the programmable bass, treble and notch filter controls inside the back cavity. This bass is a funk machine!!! The B outshines ANY bass in that price range! The treble is nice and crisp but the output can be changed via the controls in the back. The bass is strong ,LOUD and punchy, more modern sounding, not for cats looking for that "P" or vintage vibe. Yeah Robear, I FINALLY got one! and I'm happy as can be with it, totally satisfied, NOW I know why you would'nt sell me yours.;)

They are made in Korea tehuti.

I keep thinking about getting rid of it but I cannot bring myself to do it. Did you get rid of the Ibanez Lo end or do you still have it? People are really sleeping on these basses. They are excellent for the money if you are looking for the modern, hi-fi sound. They do not do vintage to well but fortunately for me I don't play vintage!!!:D

How does she look? You have to post some pics.

Here's a pic of my Japanese-made Tune Bass Maniac. It was modded by another TBer with EMG pickups and preamp and I sanded down the purple finish and finished it natural. As I mentioned previously on this thread, it is a slap monster. Sickest slap tone of any bass I have owned, including my old Curbow prototype.

If somebody is dying to buy it from me, I'll sell it, though I'm in no hurry to get rid of it.
