TV show bass lines...

If you are of a certain age you may recall this:



I stumbled upon this today. It's been in my head since I was about 5 years old. According to the description the vocals are the Pointer Sisters. Don't know who the bassist is, but this is some groovy stuff for Sesame Street.

I know there have been some other great bass lines on TV, your favs? (NO SEINFELD PLEAZE)

Several sources including Bass Player Magazine say that studio man Chuck Berghofer played the "Barney Miller" bass part. Some say another studio vet named Jim Hughart did. Believe or or not, Carol Kaye is on record saying she didn't play it.

Chuck Rainey played on a LOT of cuts like this in the 70's. He would be my first guess.

The Link Wray version is way better, it's at once both dorkier (because fo the voices) and more badass, because it's Link freakin' Wray.
