If you are of a certain age you may recall this:



I stumbled upon this today. It's been in my head since I was about 5 years old. According to the description the vocals are the Pointer Sisters. Don't know who the bassist is, but this is some groovy stuff for Sesame Street.

I know there have been some other great bass lines on TV, your favs? (NO SEINFELD PLEAZE)

I'm working on transcribing the bass line of that, but I wrote out the melody in the meantime to work out the meter.

One time playing my fretless I played something that sounded like this--so now I have to sit down with the theme song & figure it out.

The greatest TV theme of all - and STILL being played a lot!! If you can't make this swing, you ain't a musician!! (And it's a bass player's dream, because we're the glue that holds the whole thing together.)

Cool! That can't have been easy. The only thing I hear different in the recording is a syncopated rhythm in your measure 12. I hear an eighth-rest at the start of the measure, followed by two eighth-notes, and then another eighth-rest, before the last beat.
