I stumbled upon this today. It's been in my head since I was about 5 years old. According to the description the vocals are the Pointer Sisters. Don't know who the bassist is, but this is some groovy stuff for Sesame Street.

I know there have been some other great bass lines on TV, your favs? (NO SEINFELD PLEAZE)

Writer Walt Kraemer just mentions "bay area musicians" playing on that track. The steel drum solo is by Andy Narell.
