Two Note Torpedo CAB M

I understand what you are saying but I still think this would work. I would be plugging the CAB M into a PA amp (the Crown) into 2 x 115 Faital PR400 speakers (without tweets). The Faitals are basically PA speakers (I am just not using tweets).. The tube amp sim in the CAB M sounds nice to me. This is all in theory at this stage. I hope it works in practice.
I had high hopes to use it in this matter as well. I tried something very similar with very flat response pa speakers. I found it to be ok, but not quite what I was looking for. To be fair though, I never jumped into the editing software. I just tried what came on the pedal. In the end I ran a tech 21 pedal with cab sim into a tone hammer preamp and I’m very happy.

Not being all that familiar with the CAB M, do the cabinet IR and the Power amp modeling have independent engage settings? Nothing wrong with some power amp modeling without cab modeling, if that's possible. In the end, you really should just use your ears and go with what suits you, whatever that may be. My only point being that if you're running a cabinet IR into an otherwise "traditional" bass cabinet, you *MIGHT NOT* like the sound that you hear since the cab IR may be fighting with the EQ characteristics of the bass cabinet/speaker. But if you like what you're hearing, roll with it.

The included IRs have independent power amp/cabinet/mic/eq/reverb options.
If you load a third-party IR, it has less options; probably only eq & reverb. I haven't tried it myself, because I only have the CAB M for a few days.

Does anyone know if I can use the speaker out of a little mark 250 into speaker in of the CAB M and its XLR out to my steinberg UR12 soundcard without having to connect a speaker to CAB M? I know that little mark 250 does not need a speaker connected, but was wondering if by connecting the speaker out to cab m is something different.

Hi, Is it possible to have an unaffected thru output?
I would like to send the two note to the board\PA but still have the option to plug in to my "real" amp\cab
Do you know if it is possible to use the "speaker out" as an "line thru\unaffected\bypass"?
Assuming I would be using line it with my bass.
Please let me know if i am not explaining myself clearly (?)

Yes, that’s exactly how I use it when I need an amp on stage or for practice.

I think the little mark still needs a speaker or a loadbox connected, or it would fry.

I don't see any indication that you can use it without a cabinet or a loadbox.

I would rather buy a dedicated preamp, because it's not like Little Mark had some special sound you would absolutely need.

I got the Cab M, and it does what I expected regarding playing with an headset.
However the aux input sound is bad. It's like it's numerically mixed instead of beeing passed thru.
Therefore I will not use the headphone out of the Cab M.

but why would you like a blend with a cab simulator? it is suppost to emulate your cabinet sound, you use blend in the preamp stage.
I mean it’s just my personal preference with cabinet simulators, I use to have the torpedo C.A.B. and remember that I didn’t liked the sound of just the pure C.A.B. so I had a kinda busy set up with a blender or separate DI to FOH, interface for home or studio. TBH I honestly didn’t minded that much is just that audio engineers do and since I like to get calls back I don’t mess with them, almost 95% of FOH audio guys think im cussing their mother out when I ask if I can get an extra channel for bass. So far my zoom ms60b does have an option for blending the dry signal with the C.A.B. I also know that the zoom B3, B3N, and HX stomp does have that option as well.

I used a Cab M in combination with a Le Bass preamp pedal. It has improved my DI sound immensely. I have about 5 different cabs and irs that can change to with a flick of the dial when I want to change my sound depending on the song. I can’t recommend enough.
I will be running Le Bass into the CABM. Can’t wait to hear it. Rebuilding my board, so will be early next week before I have all the pieces in place.

I finally dialed in a few standard setups instead of what I think was great sounding. I found out I kept making the same sound.

So my best set up with the CAB M is using the Le Bass at 12 o'clock for the gain, bass and treble on the clean channel. Fretless Super Squier with DP 123 and EB Cobalt flat w/ Spectracomp compression 25%. I set the following in my CAB M.

  • Cabinet: Fridge 8*10
  • P-AMP: PP KT88 Pendode, volume 24, Depth 100, Presence 76
  • EQ: Bass +1 50, +1 120, -1 360, +6 800, -3 4k
  • Reverb: 8% Studio B
  • Mic A: Dyn Bass52 Dist 0 Axis 0 Front volume 0 db
  • Mic B: Rbn 121 Dist 0 Axis 49 Front volume -6 db.

Should we make a cabinet thread that follows a a recipe way of setting up? It took me forever fiddling around until I got about 6 set ups I like a lot. I got a Bassman setup and a SWR WM on as well, but this one is my best sounding one.
