Two Note Torpedo CAB M

Hi all! I've heard lots of love for this guy and it has caught my eye.

Question though, if running a pedal like a darkglass AOU that lets you use custom IRs for the cab sim, does that make one of these redundant?

Curious if its worth adding to my ampless rig...

I love the cab m in a controlled studio setting when you have the time to sculpt your sound. In a live situation I prefer to use a set and forget system like my Darkglass gear. Of course you can set and forget the cab m but it can be a tweaking rabbit hole.

I’ve found it super easy to tailor the sounds on the pedal, and even easier on the editor.

Yes, it is easy to edit and can totally be used live. I just find that all that editing power and potential for creating a bad sound during a fast and furious set up with a drunk sound dude a little daunting. I prefer simple, go to solutions in that environment. That being said I love my cab m so much I have two of them.

How often do you find yourself tweaking it/changing sims from gig to gig?

It's a slow evolution of small tweaks over time. I setup a few presets in my studio, on monitors i trust. I then hope for the best and make minor adjustments live. If i used in ears it would be a better situation. Trying to make adjustments on some poorly tuned, cockroach infested floor wedges is not a good idea. I find that i need alot more high end when the monitors are 1/4 full of jagermeister and spit.

I like it. Looking like I'll add one to my board with my hxfx and darkglass aou soon. The eq, noise gate, and enhancer, aux in, and headphone out look like good solutions for apartment practice and live application. Ive been running a gate as the last block of my hxfx but thats before the darkglass. I've wanted something to go after.

I primarily play in ampless* settings so I won't need the speaker component too often, but it looks really cool to have.

Thank you, gentlemen!

I have many presets set up for different cabinet and microphone figurations. I have a couple that I use for church, and they’re pretty much set and forget. If I do need to tweak any on site, use of my iPad does the trick. Really love the interface with my iPhone and iPad. This update really took this pedal to another level.

I’ve found the first version of the speaker sim on the Darkglass Ultras to be unusably noisy for certain situations. Once I get back into playing live shows, I’ll probably be looking into a stand-alone speaker sim like this rather than upgrade to the newest version of the Ultras. So for me, definitely not redundant.

If the noise floor of the DG cab sims is acceptable for your use, it might be a different story. For my uses, I don’t think the extra flexibility in tailoring the cab sims would be very noticeable in a full mix, but YMMV.

Well the v1 of the AOU you can hook up to the darkglass suite and change. The stock one is noisy.

This thread sealed the deal on me getting the cab M. Need to wait a little bit for funds but its happening.

I just got myself a Le Bass and CABM! I
used to be a v1 CAB user so already quite familiar, but the clean preamp section on the new CABM+ update is absolutely unreal. I don't know what it does but it just adds a beautiful punch and focus.

Hi!
I bought a Torpedo C.A.B. M and I'm love with this. :)
I have a question. I'm so sorry, but I'm not an expert this topic. I have a built-in speaker with amp. So if I have a Combo amp, Can I use this with Torpedo simply? :help:

I’m looking forward to having one of these soon, once the preorder goes through. I’m sure I’ll have plenty of questions, lol.

But here’s a preliminary one (or two):

Do folks have any favorite mic’s to use for bass cabs?

Also, do you have any favorite third party IR’s?
