Considering a Le Bass. How is the volume on the aux in? I mainly want a great practice amp for playing at night with headphones

It does not have an aux in (only headphone out if you want quiet practice). Probably the one feature missing to make it a full quiet practice preamp. But not an issue in my case as I can just use the aux in and headphone out from my Rumble. I'm sure there are cheap audio cables to tie into the headphone out if aux in is a must for you.

Just got one a few days ago, and I'm loving the versatility. Took me a a bit to dial in the sound I wanted, and I'm sure I'll continue to mess with it. (for 2 different tubes on the way to experiment).

I ended up adding a Rolls PM50se to my board for this very reason. It serves as a headphone amp for wired in ears when I'm playing live, and for home practice I use the XLR channel as a line in for my Le Bass and the 1/4" stereo channel to patch in my iPad. It's important to get the "se" version and not the older "s" version, as it has a mic/line switch for the XLR and some other switches that replace these weird jumpers that they used on the older version. This is an older pic of my board from before I replaced my "S" with the "SE."

I love my Le Bass and was wondering if anyone had done any type of frequency analysis on what exact frequencies are being boosted with the bass and treble knobs on each channel and what the various notches are on the mid sweep. I emailed Two Notes and they basically told me that the knobs adjust different frequencies depending on where you have them turned and would give me no specifics. I've got it dialed in pretty well by ear, but would like to know specifics if anyone has done any analysis on this.

I am wanting to get a One Spot CS6 to power my board. The Two Notes website says the CS7 will work for the Le Bass, but that won't fit under my board. Has anyone used the CS6 to power their Le Bass? I did a search of this board and did a google search, but can't seem to find anyone who has tried it.

I use one under my metro16. Works great with the le bass

I just recived my Le Bass and was very excited about it. Went to my rehearsal place as soon as I could. There I discoverd that it sadly dons`t work. The problem is that it dosn`t affect the sound at all. I tested it through the output to my amp, the DI out and the headphone out. I always just get the dry instrument signal. The only thing that has an effect on the sound is the cabsim.
Has anyone had that kind of promlem? Am I doing something wrong or is it just malfunctening?

Are you using the output directly above the input jack? If so, that's essentially a pass through and doesn't pass the sound of the preamp through. Make sure that you're using the output on the left side of the preamp.

Otherwise, if you're pushing buttons and hearing no difference, the preamp is faulty and needs to be exchanged.

Yeah I did it with the left one, also DI und Headphones. Di and headphones should get an altered signal too, right.
Anyway thanks for the answer. I thought it was faulty, I just thought it was strang that I got a signal just the dry one. Wanted to make sure.

If I use this in the FX loop, will my signal hit the preamp EQ, then the pedals in the loop, then the cab sim? Or is there a second tube stage before leaving through the DI?

Using the effects loop puts the effects post preamp, so it's basically the same as putting a pedal after the Le Bass, except that the signal will push through the DI out on the Le Bass. That's important if you're sending a signal to FOH through the Le Bass.

Generally speaking, you typically put effects like delay and modulation after the preamp and drives and octaves and such before. My opinion is that it's more noticeable when you're using a bit of drive as opposed to running more clean tones through the Le Bass.

The cab sim is only on the DI and is going to be applied after the effects.

This is the new thread for owners, or soon to be owners of the Two Notes Le Bass tube preamp.

We can discuss everything from settings to which side (A/B or Hot/Cold) you use for which songs. I've found that I never turn it off. It's part of my tone no matter what other effect I might be using.

I have been reading this thread for over 3 days now as well as other sources plus video on Le Bass and at around 12:45 this morning I pulled the trigger on it.I should have it in a couple of days.I am a preamp freak and the owner of 9 others that were good enough to keep, so I really needed this like a second heart attack.People on this thread are very into this pedal.I have been reading with some concern about malfunctioning units,there are a lot of posts on these.That said most were pre 2019 so hopefully current versions have worked out the bugs.I'm an older guy from the anolog era now trapped in a digital world.In other words a techno boob.So as with many other things I depend on fellow forum mates for help on technical matters.Heres to an experience that matches so many happy Le Bass users.

It really changes the usability of Le Bass. It makes it easy to get volumes matched between the channels, and you can really tailor the drive settings to your own taste. And it makes the A channel very usable, because you can bring in the mids you need for a clean setting.

I'm expecting mine to arrive in a couple of days.This post is important information, if only I understood how midi works.I've been sitting on a DMC micro for over a year.Maybe it will push me to learn about it.Not that I haven't tried.
