I drive the le bass with cold Fusion DI Out and via out I go a Nux Malvin Lee basspreamp and drive there over an IR 8 x 10 or 6 x 10 SWR Impulse box.
The Melvin Lee has a wonderful warm chop and so I can use the fat function of the le bass and get a bit of dirt over the Melvin Lee can drive the whole thing as with amping DI .
IR DI Out by lebass sind ch2 Nix With a bit Dirt oder a 2x15 SUN..

Turns out the Strymon Iridium is MIDI capable, you just need a special MIDI 5 pin to TRS cable. Might be too guitar centric to work on a bass board, though.
Also the Strymon Compadre Compressor/Boost Pedal, which is actually super interesting. It’s MIDI capability might make it a great option for balancing out the levels for all of the modes on the Le Bass.

Hey all, first post in a long time. Have had a le bass for a couple years now. Great preamp and had zero issues until recently. After 6 months sitting idle I found that it was passing signal through fine enough but had intermittent to no signal on A and B. Swapped tube and it worked fine for a couple jams then same problem again. Anyone else experience this kind of issue?
Great looking pedal, probably picking one up, or both. Thanks for explaining some of those differences. Shout out to the 9x10 owners!

also, has anyone tried putting a 12AU7 telefunken tube on the le bass instead of the usual 12AX7?
Just a thought, but you might try taking an instrument cable and inserting and removing it from both the send and return jacks several times. You could spray a little bit of Deoxit on the cable as well. It could be that those connections have had dirt built up in them that is causing the connection to be intermittent. I used to have to do that fairly regularly with my old Alembic tube pre.
Hey guys. I've tried Deoxit on all jacks. It's very intermittent - suddenly starts to break up and lose volume etc., leave it for a while and it's ok again. Two Notes were quick to reply and put me in touch with a service center but that's min shop fees + postage + risk associated with postage so I think I'll just give it to a local tech who has a stellar rep.
I Have the same problem with a loose connection on the power supply which causes the same intermittent fault.

I don't have the LE BASS yet but I'm seriously thinking about taking it (impossible to try it near my home).
I play on 3 basses : a 5 strings "moscato funk", a JB MIJ 75 reissue, and a fretless "conklin groove Tools".
My amp is an old swr 350 bass. I find it really good but too sharp in the trebles and really not enough bass and low mids.
So I think that taking a preamp to put it in the effect loop would be nice!
But I play mostly jazz, funk, afrobeat and rock...I'm looking for a defined sound across the whole spectrum.
Basically a sound between a big svt with a 8*10 cab and a legacy GK with a 2*12!
Do you think it's possible to get close to it with "le bass"?
in slap in clear sound how is the sound?

I don't miss the size & weight of the pedal, but do miss the great tones I got from it, esp as I've learned more of what I like in a preamp (esp one with a tube!). Well, I should say, I reminisce fondly of those tones. I'm doing the Sushi Box thing for tubes and RNDI for sweet quiet DI. Funny, between then and now, I ran a Darkglass VMT Ultra, and that journey has been so odd and educational.
As I get more MIDI-friendly and also come to maybe be less antagonistic toward cabsim impulses... have later iterations of the Le Bass done anything about the issue earlier on of noise in the DI output?

The le bass directly into my Scarlett 2i2 is bad@$$, I’ll be recording with that. The torpedo is cool but can wait til later once I can sit down and get IRs loaded that I like

I always kinda regretted letting it go so I picked one up from the classifieds the other day.
It’s a cool preamp. One of the reasons I sold it was because I always had problems clipping the c.a.b with it in the effects loop. It never occurred to me to take it out of the effects loop and run it after
so that’s what I did this time and it works great. I put my south Hampton utility knife in the effects loop and it clipped too.
So watch out putting digital pedals in the effects loop.

Considering a Le Bass. How is the volume on the aux in? I mainly want a great practice amp for playing at night with headphones
It’s ok but a little noisy. I prefer headphones with my Ampeg di, with the le bass in front of it
