The size of the le bass doesn't bother me, compared to a normal pedal its definately big but compared to most preamp pedals I don't think it's that big. I guess coming off a pedal board where I used an Ampeg scr, dha vt1 and a distortion pedal which all were replaced by le bass I have more room now. Plus this thing absolutely kills it, with or without the torpedo CAB

Two Notes Le Bass Preamp, When Does it Ship???

Oh well. Le Bass looks like a great pedal. I was really, REALLY, hoping that you could load it with other cabinet impulses, but evidently not. I guess this only matters if the embedded cab sim presents a serious tonal limitation. I guess when the GK Plex pedal comes to market, I'll have a decision to make as I'm looking for a pure preamp pedal/DI box that has an FX loop. Can we have a Le Bass "Deluxe" that includes download of cabinet IRs? Pretty please? =)

I wish Two Notes would have form-factored the Le Preamp pedals in landscape orientation like the Torpedo C.A.B. or vice-versa. Having both of these opposing units on the same pedal board is slightly problematic for me.
I would have liked the ability to add the built-in Le Preamp analog cabinet sim to the 1/4" out as well, perhaps with another switch on the side of the unit to keep the existing XLR/Phones switch separate.

That's the deal breaker for me as I'm using 1/4'' to my in-ear monitor.
The power requirement is an inconvenience as well but I would have found a way if it sounded as great as I imagine it does.
The form factor is the result of huge hesitations and deliberations. Initially, we would have preferred to have it in the same form factor as the CAB, but there was other concerns involved.
The fact that the speaker sim is absent from the 1/4 jack out is mostly due to the fact that this would have allowed way to much errors. In the context of a simple Le Preamp, this doesn't seem obvious, but this is clearer when considering the multiple possible settings (several Le Preamp chained, + Torpedo CAB...). Early versions of prototypes had this, and we just encountered too many situations where we or our testers did not understand the sound we/they got... until we/they finally realised that the cab sim was on but shouldn't. So we decided to keep things simpler. As always, this is a compromise, so it sure won't satisfy everybody.
Any way you can just use the 1/8" headphone jack or XLR out to feed your IEMs? As you say, if it sounds good I'm sure you could find a way!
I'm in the market for a new pedal preamp and would be all over this Le Bass but the huge form factor (tall) totally prohibits a purchase for me. Too bad. Specs are all exactly what I want.
XLR goes stright to front of house - it would probably protrude too much to keep it wired on my board and my IEM only has TRS through.
I asked Two Notes about using the headphones out - not recommended.
I'm looking at another upcoming preamp from a different brand that should do all I need and more. In the meantime, my current setup isn't the best sounding but it gets the job done.

For me, the coolest part about this preamp is the routing options. Running parallel signals when using overdrive is, IMHO, the best way to rock overdriven bass. Hardly any bass heads offer parallel FX loops.
Also, that fellow Mike VT who's pushing them on all the NAMM videos is a sexy beast. Chest Hair for days.

I'm digging mine. Very modern sounding compared to most tube OD pedals, the overdrive sounds so good with a Jazz or PJ with both pickups on full. Plenty enough low end on the dirt channel and the clean side is very scooped so I tend to use it on the dirt side only.
The EQ is spot on, only very small adjustments are needed to make a big change, I never felt I needed to make anything but slight bumps up or down and the frequencies seem well placed.
I find the cab sim too dark through headphones but is usable with the treble bumped up a bit to compensate. It does hiss quite a bit through headphones, but since they did not feature an aux in I am chaining it to my PJB Bighead, and the hiss is gone. Perhaps it's due to bad impedance matching, I'm no electronics expert but heard this as the excuse when I had an old EA amp that only sounded hissy with certain cans (mine are 80 ohms which is on the high side). I've not tried the DI out yet.
Being in satisfied with the cab sim was making me gas for the Torpedo CAB... but for now since I've discovered the Ampeg sims on GarageBand on my iPad, which to me sound better than anything else on the platform, I'm a happy chappy with my headphone practice rig. The Le Bass sounds awesome as a tube OD going into this setup.
If they were to repackage this as a simple mini tube overdrive with 3 band EQ, no DI/headphone/cab sim, I'd happily downgrade.

I agree, on the clean- try bumping the gain and roll back some bass and treble. I usually use it with only rolling back a bit of treble riding the bridge pickup. It reminds me of a Mesa Carbine tone.
