Anyone do any neck swapping on the US Foundation 2000 4 strings. UPS killed a neck for me. Not going to be a good repair spot either. That is an odd pocket, but I bet someone has copied it!

If it's a rosewood 2000 neck you may be looking for , Send a message to ebay seller "aharbour2008" -they had a few . I snagged a nice rosewood 2000 neck from them to mate to a late 90s Foundation body -

I had put a set of DR Sunbeams on the SF Foundation. They sounded good but I decided to try a set of D'Adarrio Chromes on the bass and just WOW!

The electronics in this bass are amazing.....different in the way the controls work, especially the tone control, but the variety of tones available is remarkable. I can get a snarly Jazz bass tone and then it is no problem to get a warm and fat sounding tone similar to a Precision and all of it sounds very musical.

The engineering on these basses was so very good. The only niggle I have is that they should never have used the micro tilt which is responsible for a lot of ski jump necks. This neck is not bad by any means but there is a very small amount of ski jump that prevents it from being set up as low as I usually like.

If the feds send us another check I will likely send the neck off to the folks at warpedneck.com and have them do their magic. This bass is too good as it is and will be even better with the neck issue resolved.

They are awesome basses agreed. Seem to sing with just about everything I try. Chromes, Cobalts you name it.

Great valid point , I didn't think my project build through and never got all specs - The neck does fit nice in the pocket but haven't yet done the measuring to see if it will properly intonate , The body I want to use is a late Foundation body (looks like millennium) with the VFL pickups that also originally had a 21 fret neck , I will see, If not I guess I will have a nice 4-string rosewood Foundation 2000 neck without a proper donor body and may have to part with it , Thanks--here's the neck before I cleaned it up - The neck was drilled for 4 hole in error possibly from the factory , I purchased from seller who sourced many Peavey parts

They certainly are! My Foundy has Cobalt flats. Really old ones--been on the bass about 5 years now. Sounds to good and thumpy now!
