Thinking about getting a set of black tuners and a black P bass style bridge cover for this former DynaBass Unity LTD. It ain't Dyna, its got Seymour Duncans and one of the tuners is slipping and the Hipshot can't be repaired and is also not stable. It is playing and sounding really good and I'm starting to really dig the sorta chunky neck.
In my opinion that would improve the bass look dramatically. I personally would go with a black bridge rather than a bridge cover. But I vote yes!
And i just got my Ibanez Blazer P straight... but man is this tempting. Maybe if it's still here on friday (payday) lol

i have a cover on my pbass- it looks old with naturalish nitro finish - only reason are nashville and festival gigs. Also, does make it tougher to play.

The family contacted me and offered a once in a lifetime price on this. Arrived in the mail.
Benedict Roadie (USA Boutique)
Finally done after a year of dorking around. I bought it off a tour manager... was resurrected from the dead... now tuned B-B with flats. The luthier finally called that the new nut was done (after 10 hours of work)...
This is a P90 in the neck and LRBaggs in the bridge.
Peavey Generation
This was a short freak run while they were offshoring. Fishman Bridge with custom coil tap bridge pickup. Pickup winder finally called that the pickup was done.
Bluetooth Headphone Amp/Modeler
I posted a "wanted" for another pocket rocket. A local guy noted he had this gizmo. Arrived yesterday
G-Lenium is finally dialed in
Think all of the geometry is finally set. Took a set of DR LongNecks and a bunch of testing/machining to get dialed in.
And yes, having an offset wedge shim machined was a little silly. The needed angle was between 2 Stewart Mac shims... the needed offset was also between 2. I have a friend that does this stuff for fun. It will be gigged 50x a year so worth being picky over.
Part of my fascination is that the USA Peavey stuff is a great starting point to dial stuff in. Most of the 1989-2010 basses can easily compete with the irrationally expensive stuff. A Fury hands down can easily trump my FWord P.

I had an all black Gen 3 Fury and Mech had an all black Fury.
Black body, factory black all maple neck, black pickguard, black pickguard screws...the tuners and bridge were chrome.
Mech had black hardware on his too, so his was even blacker than mine.
I sold my blackout Fury locally in Austin.
I don't know what happened, or what is going to happen to all of Mech's basses, he had probably fifty or seventy after he sold some early last year or late 2019.

I have an obsession for wood. The musical kind.
My EBMM USA SUB Bass was made pretty blacked out from the factory.
Black textured body paint, black one ply pickguard and screws, black painted neck back and all of the headstock too, the fretboard is a beautiful dark rosewood.
Bridge, tuners, knobs and cover plate for controls are chrome.
I usually don't love glossy black paint jobs, so the splatter texture paint looks awesome to me, shows no prints at all.
I have no black Peaveys anymore.
Unsure if you knew there are random black-finished necks (painted maple)... the tuners were commodity footprint... the bridge was obscurely used on Patriots(?)
I went on a nutty mission to have the only white things.. position dots.. logo... and pickguard ring.... did look pretty cool though!

During the era of the Steve Vai guitar, they made a few basses... was probably a business lesson learned as they were trying to compete with the premium Status/Schack/Clover stuff... they were not sold at the $6k Modulus TBX budget.
The acoustics have a cult following. To the best of my knowledge, they do acoustic focused instruments.

Mine was in great shape and looked really cool but the other Fury basses here all have better feeling more stable necks.
The guy who bought it from me met me in a parking lot and bought the bass ten seconds after I pulled it out of the bag.
Man, I am a sucker for a matching headstock every time!
That all black Fury would have me dropping Benjamins in 10 seconds, too!
My El Toro is just a little bit of hardware away from Stealth status. G&L used the black crinkle bridge and control plate during this time, which I really dig. Alas, I'm leaving it as is.
...because I already have a fully Stealth 'active J Bass'
I would love to get my hands on a Patriot neck (or equivalent) with the black headstock, rosewood board and wide nut. My RicRiot would look extra badass then!
