Yesterday I did my first full set-up. I've set neck relief and intonation but this time the full deal. To be clear I have learned a lot from TB and from this thread in particular. You guys rock! Its been a lot of fun corresponding here on this thread through PMs and more. Thanks for all the advise and ideas...
So first I changed out the bridge saddles for the smaller diameter as suggested to me and in past posts. Then to the neck relief, its so dry I had to tighten quite a bit... then I adjusted the bridge height, something I never have messed with at all... And this is where I started getting into unknown waters as I then filed the nut to the correct heights. I have always known this to be important, but I have never really concerned myself with it. Wow! What a difference! I set the intonation and this bass plays great up and down the neck...

Killer bass, hope it plays even better now! I'm a big fan of rosewood on my foundations (if you couldn't tell, haha). Do you notice any tonal differences between the brass and the original (steel?) saddles?
ALSO BASS PORN !!!! I trust the beat up Ginger (I just named it, LOL) one the most ! Looks like it plays the best. Man, they are ALL gorgeous.
It was actually my first peavey, circa 2011 or so? 2012? It was $120 and absolutely trashed, the original bridge was beyond rusted up, and no knobs, but the hours I put on that thing speak for themselves. Someday I'll get the balls to refinish it something nice, shell pink or something.

I'm prepping a T-40 before it's move to Germany. Buyer asked about the neck and I told him I had 2 he could chose from. Neck 1 came from another bass, neck 2 has a bash to the headstock point.
Neck 1 was actually on a T-40/Cabronita bought from a guy in Bulgaria, it has a strange downward slope after the 20th fret. Anyway I looked for, and failed to find, photos of the original bass

Thanks, it's beat up but a cool color.
I didn't notice, mostly because I haven't spent much time with it. The setup was petty bad. The nut was way high, took quite a bit of filing. The neck had a lot of relief and the bridge couldn't go any lower. It now plays really nice, I am psyched!

Whoa! What bass is this!?! Custom? It is awesome! Love the simple volume tone, and the PG is a pretty cool touch...
Tvestan picked up a beaten T-40 then had the Cabronita body made. I never got to play it, which I regret now.
Neck,pickups,bridge, wiring loom etc got shipped to Scotland about 8 years back.
Thanks. Yep. Picked the MB up for $120.00 a couple years ago. Two channels. Vintage channel has a tube preamp. 60 Watts, 12” driver. Only downside is the weight. Right now it’s in my “mini shed”home office practice area.

I while back we were discussing the T45 middle tone control knobs function, basically how it leaves a lot to be desired. I checked mine out this weekend. On 10 its ok, 6-8 its awesome, below that puny and thin, unusable.
What kind of mods have y'all done to yours? Ideally I would like it to be a V/T set-up like that custom bass that @kodiakblair shared above, but then theres an extra hole. What to do?

The easiest setup would probably be VT and then an on-off switch to go from single to double coil. It may be possible to do a 3 way switch to get each coil plus the double, but im not sure. Conversely, it wouldn't be hard to install a 2-band preamp, and you could even do a push-pull pot to get the coil switching.
