It needed a BIG ol shim, so i put three pieces of veneer in the pocket, one about 2/3 the way down, one a little less than half way, and one a little more than 1/4 the way. I know its all guessing and id have been better to make a real wedge, but its gotta be more stable than three thin chunks of veneer at the end right?

You can change the saddles on that bridge, a Wilkinson bridge with brass saddles are a match for width and slots but with a smaller OD so you do not have to shim the heck out of the neck heel. Wilkinson bridges are about $15.

Also, here’s my ~10 year old stew Mac wrench that I believe they’ve discontinued compared to the standard Gibson wrench. I’ve yet to meet a peavey mine is no good for.View attachment 4172767

Nice! That one would most certainly work in all Peavey basses.
I really like those StewMac truss wrenches. Very nicely made.

After getting that Honey Acrylic Shell color/pattern I wished I had chosen something less gold/brown.
With the ash body and maple neck it looks like too much yellow to me.
The knobs were an attempt to lose some weight with lightweight wood.
Brass/chromed knobs are damn heavy.

Mike Quick at QuickGuards.com is the guy who does these pickguards, he has a lot of unique colors and patterns.
Was thinking I should have picked the tobacco leaf guard below.
Sort of a tort color without a tort pattern.

Millenium 5 - Onyx Black (Unsure if anyone is out looking)

There's a chance I may consolidate (sell) my count again... I stumbled into a platinum-horned unicorn bass.

If it were to leave would not be cheap.

Good to know! I have the same saddles on my patriot, for which they’re also an exact fit. I’ll get some on order and try them out!

Nice! Did you only swap out the saddles, screws, and springs themselves, leaving the existing bridge plate? Because doing a search online, I don't see Wilkinson making any trapezoidal shaped bridge.

Yup, just the saddles screws and springs. Then you need no shims or maybe one normal shim. I think I put one normal shim in the back end of the pocket and you can see how much of the saddle screws are showing, lot's of room for lower action if somebody wanted to go crazy low. I put my strings at .070 at the 17th fret.

Awesome. Thanks for the info. Sounds like a good option to minimize the shim thickness. Those current saddles bottom out too easily and I also try to stay away from using the micro-tilt.

My Foundation already came with the Wilkinson brass saddles,& there quite a bit smaller than the original saddles. The originals are in a jiffy bag along with spare screws & springs

As it looks will have a Modulus Flea 5 and Modulus Quantum 6 also leaving.

For some it is the addition of the bridge cover that is a turn off. I'm confident that the bass is worth the asking price if the neck is good. I prefer instruments that are all original.

You're probably correct about the additional cover. We know it can be removed, but now one is left with those two screw holes.
Just nice to see a more unique color, since so many Peavey basses for sale seem to be either white or black (predominantly).
