U.S. Peavey Club

Thanks @Runnerman , @MNAirHead & @Bleecker for your input, I would replace the bridge but don't have the spare $100 with no gigs. FWIW I always liked the look of the P bass bridge cover and kept it on the Unknown Blonde which this bass replaces for me in some strange ways. The tuners and cover have spent all I got for now and the tuner issue is crucial.
@Bleecker are you referring to my Mr Brown Cookie Jar or Benny the tabby cat?

That all black Fury would have me dropping Benjamins in 10 seconds, too!
My El Toro is just a little bit of hardware away from Stealth status. G&L used the black crinkle bridge and control plate during this time, which I really dig. Alas, I'm leaving it as is.View attachment 4183146
...because I already have a fully Stealth 'active J Bass' ;)

I would love to get my hands on a Patriot neck (or equivalent) with the black headstock, rosewood board and wide nut. My RicRiot would look extra badass then!

Love that El Toro!

I have a PJ body hanging around here that I've been kicking ideas around and one of those has been to build a "Stealth" bass. These are pushing me that direction!

So, I'm cleaning up in preparation for a move and I come across a new set of Smith piccolo strings and look across the room at T40 #2 and wonder. Do the members here think it would be a sacrilege? I can't get the image of the T40 inhaling helium out of my mind. I'm a child at times I know...

I was referring to the cookie jar... I think the bridge cover will look cool and unique, go for it!

Honesty,

It took me like 4 months to decide to drill the 2 holes on my Fword Pbass... I double faced taped it.

When I cut through, I fully understood it would delete the fact that I had the original Fword Packaging, receipt, hang tags, strap, box etc.

I double faced taped it while figuring it out.

opinion -- i'd either be patient for the black peavey bridge, or create a method to get the current one plated

I'll see if Stu has a pix of the stealth bass.

View attachment 4183380 I have an opportunity to buy a husk that has some significant neck damage for a very nice price. The neck has some pretty good cracks on the back in the center. May can either figure out a way to glue or fill the cracks with epoxy maybe and sand it down smooth. The bass doesn't have any hardware, so I would just build it out with aftermarket parts. I figure if I can't make the neck work, I could cut the neck off and route a neck pocket and put on a bolt on neck.

This is the damage

That Stealth Dyna looks so badass...

That's a nice piece right there. Has the older trapezoid bridge. And a great blackout/stealth platform. Delaware though....
Yes, in my neck of the woods, but I have no interest in getting another foundation right now. Considered getting it and then flipping it on either Reverb or TB, but not sure I want to deal with the shipping at this time.

I hear you on that,. I'll measure and think many times before any mods, even one this minor. The cover arrived today and I'm trying to decide and shopping for a black Schaller bridge to keep from drilling more holes
