U.S. Peavey Club

Officially in the club. Pretty sure this bass had never been played. Not a mark on it anywhere. Frets look brand new. I did run fret erasers over them because they looked dull but not a mark on them. Clean the potentiometers with some contact cleaner, put some Labella White tapewounds on her and she THUMPS!!!! Still had the receipt from when they bought it in the case. Jan 1995. After giving her a good wipe down and polish, you can use it as a mirror.

I have a red one. I bought it off Facebook Marketplace for $100 and got a Peavey guitar amp with it. I gave the amp to a beginner that needed it and and I cherish the bass. It only needed polishing and a good set up. It is the best P/J bass I have ever played. The tone is to die for.

Great find!
I have a Forum Plus that I changed out the pickups and harness. Love it! Super comfy neck, plays smooth! Bought it just because it was green, super cheap and a P/J.

No. Besides the fact Milestones have always been passive basses ,there was a different plan for them.

By the mid 90's the US was awash with cheap used Peaveys , the real market for Milestones was overseas.
My word did they make an impact in that market. On any given day you can find at least 20 Milestones for sale, that's in the UK alone. Milestones also made their way into Africa, I know a few players in Ghana who play them.

27 years they have been in constant production, a record for Peavey basses.

I have my doubts the bass @Bleecker posted is a bitsa. The original Milestone I was a straight jazz bass copy, right down to the separate chromed control plate. Only the harpoon head marks them out as Peaveys.

Pretty sure those came out the Saein factory in Korea.

No low rent hack outfit. The Saein built Epiphones are highly regarded and should you find one of their Ric-a-like 4001 (RK-2000-NT) you'll think you've died and went to Heaven :thumbsup:

Looks like a brand new bass in the perfect shade of white, really nice find.
What grit fret erasers did you use to just polish up dull frets? ...I bought some recently but I don't know what grits are used for what.
Or anybody else who wants to school me on the various fret eraser grits and their proper use please fill me in.

I bought commodity tuners off ebay (sorry I do not have the link)... they were a direct replacement... I think they were like $15/set
