TOTALLY agree that these VFL looking pups are wonderful (can't spell magnifacent !). They sounds like passive VFL's ; equal on all strings, high end, quiet.Yes, but they were the predecessors to VFLs. Whatever their provenance, they were great-sounding pickups. My two late 90’s 5-string Foundation basses have been remarkably fine-sounding instruments and, while I love my Super Ferrites, I think I prefer these single coils.

Not sure I agree on the "better sounding than SF's" but it totally depends on what your objective is. If you want to sound like a Ric, go SF's. My opinion is one of a billion.
I doubt it Tim.That could have come from me (that caused the problem)... I used to call them "VFLish"
I doubt it Tim.
Like everyone else here, your impact on world opinion is next to zero![]()

Hard to tell from the photo and we'll, the crappy resolution of my phone screen but I'm assuming that's SF pickups on it? If in relatively good condition, no issues I'd try to get it to around $250 but maybe willing to go to $325 if I really wanted this Foundation badly enough. I do like the color. Not having an original case is no biggie. It is definitely under $300, only damage I have see is that there is a pretty good dent below the bridge pickup, not much else. I don’t need it, I just thought that people rated these as being a really good value for an American made bass. Also, there is no HSC case with it, which for, knocks down the value even more.
Glad somebody grabbed that one.I pulled the trigger on a 84 Foundation at GC late last night. It's a double of my favorite one: black/maple, metal P knobs and case, 'good' condition. Fair price, so I just jumped on it.
Best case scenario: it gets set up with round wounds and compliments my other 84 with flats. Will probably live at the practice space with the Squier V I just finished modding to my liking.
Worst cast scenario: It has issues and I'm out $20 shipping.
It should be arriving by the weekend!
I'm sure I'm going to fall in love with it, barring any major ski jump/maxed or broken truss rod/severely worn frets. It's not the low budget/project bass I was going for, but it's a pretty sure fire gamble. There is a cool white Foundy body on ebay that was tempting-but it's white. I just don't like white instruments--but I could do a Jackson Pollock neon paint job on it to fit the band. This GC Foundy was black, from my favorite era with my favorite parts and case. I found my other 84 at GC as well, 10 years ago!Glad somebody grabbed that one.
It looked good, I don't think you are going to have any problems with it.
The B-Ninety and the Forum went quick too, both looked in good shape.
There's two T40's there for those of you that lift weights.![]()
Cheapest I'm seeing is $140 uninsured with USPS.I haven't priced international shipping lately, but seeing what domestic shipping costs, I'm a little scared...
He’s going by the coversTotal BS video.

I'll suggest a Yamaha BB series bass (BB235, 435, 735 or just 35 is the fancy one). They're well respected, sound great, and have a lot of similar specs to a P bass. Just pick the one that fits your budget and you're good to go!
I was well aware of that. He’s going by the covers
I saw that one too and got kinda excited...and then remembered I have a transparent blue J/J Milly4 that I got from ChuckWanna pass this to y’all
I’d love another but gf now says no lmao
Lord knows I dont need another red Peavey bass I doubt it Tim.

for nerdy fun... could back track that.
When I checked "poor man's Modulus" was me... I do remember calling them VFLish when there was a cult of like 3 folks + thousands of haters.
It's ok... I can be wrong... doesn't make me important - just misleading.
Oh, sorry, now that I read it, it sure sounds NOT the way I meant it. I was just having a conversation, not a judgement on your opinion. That would be ridiculous.I think I said I preferred them. One man’s food...![]()
