Well, there's got to be something. Maybe find a donor bass ? You could sell the body and re-coop some investment.

I say pass it on, let it be someone else's project. You've got other basses and Foundations are probably one of the more common of the Peavey line.
I would say one could get twice that pretty easily now. Particularly if the nerdy details are posted like resistance and magnetic polarity.

That would be a great neck! It does have the wider nut, which I have sort of come to like a little better, especially when switching between 4 and 5 stringers.

I know this is the right place for the info I seek! Couldn't find it anywhere else on the net. I have a 5 string and a 4 string Peavey Foundation basses I recently purchased really cheap. But I can't find out when they were made. The 5 string has serial 09795243 and the 4 string is 07834299. Can anyone out there know or can point me to the info? Thanks!!!

Towards the bottom is the serialization, though it only goes through 1995. Your 4 is likely a 1995, and your 5 is probably a 98 or 99, since my 99 starts with 102. You used to be able to email peavey customer service, though im not sure how active they are right now.

Secondly has the prices of American made Peavey basses, started to slow down recently? The reason I ask is that on eBay here in the UK there are, 2 classic basses with really low offers at the moment.
There is a '93 Foundation with SF pickups & what looks like a, '87 Dyna Bass in white with a bit of wear & tear both in Squier Affinity money.
I promised my missus that I wouldn't buy any basses at this time, but that's a lot of Dyna Bass for so little money see what it goes for in the end

A Forum sold for £55 a few weeks back, T-40 made £450 the week before that. May saw a T-45 make £400. Wasn't there a red Foundation sold for £60 a few months back ?
Just this morning I congratulated a fella on his $400 purchase of a rosewood T-40, he'd picked up his maple neck one for $350.
I've long said prices have stalled, if they ever truly went up by any real margin.
This club is a niche interest group and like all similar groups not a true picture of the world at large. Say it was a classic car club, members scour the classified and go " WOW, headlamps for $200. Prices are going up
". Same headlamps with a $5 tag will get passed by at swap meets for years.The number of folk interested in buying a Peavey is very small and once that interest is sated it's over. Middle of the week I took a notion to gauge Peavey interest levels in Europe so checked the forums. Nothing but crickets for the past 1 to 2 years, not a single new post.
In this club, with a few exceptions, most are 50+. On a Facebook poll I set up a few years it was the same, worse , not 1 was under 21. Where are the new bloods ?

I could do the drive. Do you think a Epiphone Classic Pro T-Bird is a fair offer? I have no idea what they want but that’s what I have that I’m willing to part with.
I bought my first foundation when I was 15 I think, and I'm 24 now. Peavey just doesn't have a whole lot of brand consciousness right now, which is insane compared to how it was in the 80s and 90s.
Value wise yea thats pretty fair, but I definitely think a foundation is better built than most of those epiphones.

To be fair, I would’ve said the same thing before I bought that Epi. Neck-through, Gibson pickups, incredible factory fret work, perfect paint job, but that’s why I asked.
That's fair. I have one of the new Embassy models and it's really nice. The tuners on it were crap, but everything else feels solid.
