Just picked up the 1987 Peavey Foundation w/ OHSC from GC Used last week for $299.
When it arrived, I let is sit for a day to cool off and acclimate. It was over 100º out. I left the strings loose, too until the next day.
When I plugged it in, it cracked and there was no signal. I changed the input jack with a new Switchcraft, and did a set up. Now, it's perfect, and nearly dead silent. I also changed the ground wire and copper foil ground.
The neck is PERFECTLY straight, zero dead spots, no fret buzz anywhere, and low action now. It had new strings on it, too.
The neck is chunky, but not baseball bat chunky. It's perfect.

I believe that pickguard is one of these:
white/black/white
parchment/black/parchment
mint/black/mint

I guess you're right, it looks so close to the paint color...

Hold on , I vowed never to say another word about the old cases after forcing the last one on an unsuspecting buyer

Use naptha to clean it,

works pretty good as a fire starter too

Does this have the 1.75” nut width?
Of all my 1.5” nut Peaveys, the 87 Patriot neck is by far the most chunky. It has more shoulder, a deeper C profile. It’s great!

No, just checked and it the 1.5" wide nut, but the neck is chunky, for sure ! Definitely more Pbass like than jazz, overall. I like the feeling. It makes me grab on better, if that makes sense. It not as punchy as other Super Ferrite pickups, but I do have some extra sets, so maybe I'll experiment someday. Maybe it it's fine and I just forgot how it's supposed to sound. I use my compressor pedal to bring up the signal, too.

Of all my 1.5” nut Peaveys, the 87 Patriot neck is by far the most chunky.
It has more shoulder, a deeper C profile. It’s great!

My '87 Patriot is the same, narrow nut like a Jazz but somehow a better meatier shape.
I recently sold a bass I put together, old mahogany P body and a brand new Fender Player Series Jazz neck, just not shaped as well as the Peaveys.
All my Peavey necks have much better rolled fretboard edges and somehow they feel more meaty without being a P neck.
At the same time I've figured out that I also really like a wide (and not deep neck) I have two Yamaha Attitude basses from 1990 & 91.
They have a 1-11/16" nut width but the depth is shallow enough to make the neck feel great while still being a big stable neck.
I think the old 1-3/4" nut width Precisions had the same shallower depth, I think when Fender went to 1-5/8" nut on the Precisions they made them deeper and they feel big and slow to me. These Yamaha necks are trying to replicate Billy Sheehans 1968 Fender Tele Bass neck he has on his original "wife" Precision bass.

I recently ordered a Millennium AC BXP 5 string. This one:

Used Peavey MILLENIUM BXP 5 STRING Bass Guitar | Music Go Round Greensboro NC | Reverb

It arrived today and is in almost pristine condition. I believe the tiny marks in the finish will easily polish out and it will look new. I ordered this bass because it was the model that looked to have the same electronics as the Cirrus basses.....VFL's and 3 band EQ. So the PU's are indeed VFL's and look identical to the ones used in the 5 and 6 string USA Cirrus. The preamp is one of those little pre's that is potted in a rectangular plastic case. It sounds nice but is not in the same sonic league as the USA Cirrus.

Yeah, I know, I know. I got what I paid for but was looking to score one of those killer basses that was overlooked. The upside is that the workmanship on the bass is excellent and it plays great.

I was playing along with some tunes on YouTube and it really sounds quite good. It is a great bass for the money and the Indonesian workmanship is very good. I owned one of the Korean Fury 5’s and this bass is far superior.

Tell me about these necks please, Are they wood reenforced with carbon fiber? Are they stable, good necks? It's for a future project...

The G and GV necks are wood necks that are made undersized and then a layer of carbon fiber is put on the neck. The carbon fiber work was done by Bell and Carlson which is a company that makes carbon fiber gun stocks. The necks are good. They are very stable, play and sound great.

Also, the Pau Ferro fretboard on the G Bass is very good quality and the fretwork is very good.
These are 35" scale, I'm guessing you know that already.

They're fiberglass wrapped wood... not as stable as 100% carbon fiber... I think my usa millenium (with fiberglass rods) is more stable.

I play a GLenium (GV neck on a USA Millenium every Sunday)... only thing I need to do it is a periodic string height adjustment tweek.

If you ever see "poor man's modulus" it's my fault -- I'm sorry... this is not accurate.
