I saw that the other day, and was going to pull the trigger, but it says "local sale only" so Im gonna watch it and see if or when they offer to ship it, in the meantime...I picked up a dark red Dyna Unity on Reverb that I have been watching...AND Mike's RJ IV that came up for sale again last weekend ;) Its gonna be a good week!

Well, that is an '84 Foundy. Take it from me, a black '84 Foundy is a thing of beauty! Love those 83-84 ones in any color, really. They seem to be made really well, and have the metal P knobs, which is a bonus.

Some folks threw a surprise BD party for a singer I have worked with for many years. He sings in the style of Tony Bennett/Frank Sinatra and I usually play upright bass on his gigs but decided to play electric bass at the surprise party due to lack of room. I took my passive P/J Forum bass and played it through my TC BG-250-210 amp (210 combo).

I almost never play 4 string electric and this is the only one I own. I have TI flats on it and it is a fantastic bass. The tone is to die for. I have owned 2 of Fender's Hot Rod Precision basses which are passive P/J basses. They were really nice basses and this Peavey is so much better. They made an active version of the Forum P/J and it seems to be more common. If you play P/J 4's try to find one of the passive versions. These basses are fantastic. My only dislike about this one is the color. I wish it was black.

I've been looking for one of these, they don't pop up very often.

IIRC they were made for only 2 years before they went to the active version. They are rare indeed. I scored mine off Craigslist. $100 for the bass, a lousy gig bag and a Peavey guitar amp. I gave the amp to a kid that was learning guitar, shipped out a bass I sold in the gig bag and, of course, kept the bass. It is in nearly perfect new condition. All it needed was a little TLC and new strings.

The J PU seems to be a humbucker since the bass is dead quiet even when the J PU is soloed.

Oh I wasn't dissing the bass at all !!! I was just asking how hard would it have been to take 5 minutes to fix it ? It looks like the string tree was moved to a different spot, or something. I'm SURE whoever buys it will take the time to fix it, but yes, it even has the Peavey witch hat knobs. (Never heard that term til the other day !)

Oh, and someone bought it already ! Obviously someone smart, because they bought an '84 Foundation :) (No, it wasn't me, but I hope it was one of us !)

Call me dense, but I just realized there were four types of Peavey pickups. Those that are on the T-40 (don't know the name), the Super Farrite, the VFLs, and the flat pickups that look like the VFLs but without the radius (don't know the name). Did all of the Foundation and Dyna models go through the pickup changes?
