People often ask more for them on eBay, but then they don't sell. The imports will always be worth less than the made in USA models and many of them are still selling in the $100 to $200 range.
I don't sell my basses on eBay anymore. I do it on TB. The only time I bought a bass on eBay, it was really cheap and the seller pretended he mailed it but never did. Got my money back.
I've never had problem with getting instruments or gear over ebay, but i agree is it much nicer here on TB.
You might not get any "guy who doesnt know what he has" deals like on ebay, but its much easier to deal with people, and people tend to be intelligent individuals, unlike some of the mouth-breathers you get elsewhere on the internet.

edit: isnt anything with "BXP" in it an import? My Millenium BXP 5 is.

Early Milestone "internationals" are incredible Pbassish type basses.. they record better than my Pbasses.

I agree. I was blown away after I setup the Milestone III I picked up locally here. My philosophy is this, import or not, if a bass is well made, especially by a company with a good reputation, plays well, to the point of standing shoulder to shoulder with the USA made and such, then it's worth the marketable price the other ones are being sold for. That's why I'm charging 275 shipped for the one I picked up with the case.
I fully agree that TB is a better place to sell basses than eBay. It is usually a better place to buy as well. Ebay is good for hard to find models and the occasionaly Buy It Now bargain from a seller that doesn't know what he has.

Awesome. I will probably paint the Patriot (see my restore thread in luthier's corner) this week and put it together this week-end.
Don't you have any issue with the fact that it is a single coil? Any buzzing?
The only time I get any sound (it's more than a hum than a buzz) is if I'm really close to the amp, and it's minimal. Super ferrites are my favorite pickups.
Thanks Scott.. that means a ton to me -- unfortunately getting any average bass dialed in is not a 20 minute project.
If you dial the volume back to 9.75 and roll back a the tone to 9 max it will be quiter than any fender I own (also have higher output -- lower signal to noise)

It's 'rumoured' that a patriot ferrite is not the same as a foundy .. I've never put a multi meter on the 2 side by side for a true comparison.

Patriots all of a sudden have been discovered
Grind Series should go as follows;
USA Grind 4 - active electronics - 24 fret bolt neck(discontinued)
USA Grind 5 - active - 24 fret bolt neck(discontinued)
Grind BXP 4 & 5 string (import) active - 24 fret bolt neck(discontinued)
Grind BXP NTB 4-5-6 string - passive - 24 fret neck through body (import - Vietnam/China - still in production)
G Bass (made in the USA) 4 & 5 string - active - Graphite bolt neck(discontinued)
PS: USA Grind basses are almost impossible to find any more.
Quick update to the Fury refinish I introduced in post #82.
This shows more red than it really is. It also seems lighter on the lower right side than it really is, but I am getting close to being done. Some touchup on the body and then it is on to a custom pickguard (found some quilted veneer.)
