I'm not sure ! I didn't look enough to see, but now that you mention it, it might be ?

What amp are you talking about, brother ?

I literally just got it today but plugging it through the DI I also swapped the tube for a gold pin EHX

The tube is warm but still has a very nice fatness and clarity still which I love

obviously master button doesn’t work through a DI post but using the pregame for my input and post gain as the volume control works

i’m going into a sound card into my Mac playing in a apartment

The EQ I was playing width but wasn’t jiving with it and headphones.

Now I got gas for a trace sound lol

View attachment 4407616 View attachment 4407618 Ain’t it pretty? You may recall the original came to me with a kill switch installed between the pickup and the volume. Man, that thing was massive, left a dime size hole in the guard and was too large for the cavity, so had warped the pickguard upward horribly to be able to fit. I removed the switch, heat pressed the guard (heat gun and a book) and filled the hole as best I could. I’m mildly happy with it - it’s not perfect but I figure I should quit while I’m ahead. Cavity has been fully shielded, and electronics replaced with 500k pots, a .022uF cap, and a stereo jack wired mono. Roto nickels 105-45 were what I had around, though I have roto steels on my other patriot so I’ll have to A/B them. I have a Wilkinson bridge on the way to scoop the brass saddles for this guy, but as is I think it’s pretty nice. Comments, questions, or concerns?

Looks nice, great job! Those knobs look good on there, but I'm partial to the lightning P knobs. Let me know if you want a set for this or any other bass...
Cheers!

After playing the pro bass. I found the gain is still distorting even though it’s way before the clip light.

Maybe I need to push the tube in more
Also try removing the tube and reinstalling it a couple times. Sometimes the friction from doing so can 'clean up' the contacts and create a better connection, like turning a dirty pot up and down several times.
