Is that a 50K M/N? Could a regular pot be wired to the board with short wire tails?
I am not certain of the value of the pot. I did find this but I cannot read much of it.

You can certainly can use a pot with conventional solder tabs and use short wire jumpers to hook it to the pc board.

I bought a bunch of silk screening mistakes a few years back.. someone mistakenly painted Millenium on a Gbass neck.
I figured that was the "problem". Thanks for clearing it up, Tim. So cool that you owned some, too ! Still cool to have, even unintentional as they were.
I would have loved to have been able to go through the Peavey warehouses a few years back (pre-liquidation) and see all the cool stuff that was stashed.

If you happen upon a cheap G Bass that has a body that is detracting from the value (or is just the wrong color,) scoop it up. I'll be selling this body at some point in the not too distant future.
My plan is to have a new roasted swamp ash body built for this bass. The neck will get defretted, or possibly a new ebony fingerboard. It will also get Graphtech Ghost saddle transducers that will have their own output for stereo operation.

Bass looks great!! How is the access to the upper frets? Do you have to take your thumb from behind the neck to reach them?
I missed the boat on cheap G basses in good condition by a few years. They are all pricy now.
Sounds like a cool project! I'm putting a Graphtech Ghost on my FrankenCirrus project. As far as bodies, I'm working on that also (Maple, not Swamp Ash)
That was a great question…so I pulled my TL out to see. I kinda have the stubby hands and typically use my ring finger when up around those highest frets. All that said with a slight stretch I can easily get to the 24th fret on the G and D string. A little more effort is needed for the A string and I’d have to get really creative for the E and B strings to get to them. I never play up there anyhow so it’s a not an issue for me.

Would have loved to tour the factory back in the heyday, with all the buildings going in full force mode.
Closest I was to Meridian (in the 20th Century) was New Orleans in 1988. It would have been quite the excursion to make the 3 hour drive each way. Oh well...

"Millenium"GBass Necks
For all we know that could have passed through the Minneapolis area... If memory serves correctly, they had a matte like finish (all 4 strings). I kept the 5 string to go onto the G-Lennium.
My GLenium Neck has a mysterious 1/8" hole all the way from the back through the fretboard -- oops.
OPINION - Gbass Vs Millenium necks
I'm not 100% convinced one is better than the other (I own both). My Oxyx Black Millenium is the single surviving unicorn from the 200ish of them I've owned. This was the single instrument I grabbed when I had the house fire. My GLenium took a bunch of geometry to get to work. It "seems to me" that my Millenium neck may be more stable.. most definitely sleeker.
