I was playing my Foundation just now. Whenever I play hard and dig in or slap, the signal distorts. I lowered the pickups and VOILA, gone ! Sounds perfect now. I need to turn the volume up a hair, but it's clear now. So, if any of you have the same issue and think it's a problem with the pickups or something, it may just be the pup height. BTW, I LOVE how simple it is to raise and lower Super Ferrites. Why can't ALL basses be this simple ? Peavey and Alembic got it right.

One of my favorite "who cares" mods i do on all my super ferrites is instead of the stock springs, I like to add some rubber tubing (from a bad instrument cable) just in case of any sympathetic vibrations. Like I said, who cares? lol

What taper are the control?

my favourite mod to do was 250K log pots

And a no load tone control.

when I was using mine I had super bright nickels online

The 80s Foundations had 250K Audio volumes and a 250K S taper tone.
My 90s Foundation and Forum Plus had linear taper volumes and audio taper tones.
I also prefer linear volumes on my VVT basses. I don't do no-load, but do like to use a 500K pot for the tone.

I rarely see a PJ Millennium, the seller has a pickup that I might pick up (har har har...) for another project. I saw that in his store and thought I would share.

Those tuners... tuners arent that expensive. Replace them! Haha

Not sure, I'll have to look. I'm pretty sure it's stock, from what I remember. I had to solder it when I got it because it was non functional, but I didn't look at the value of the pots.

EXACTLY !!!! It's annoying. For $20 the bass would look 100x better.

I always use linear volumes, absolutely. Tone's don't work properly with a linear taper, so always log there. In my experience, super ferrites come alive with 500k's. That said, the tone caps in the 80s peaveys are magically delicious, so I always reuse those when possible. They moved over to the cheap chiclet style in the 90s, which I don't appreciate nearly as much.
