The mandolin frets are really comfortable and easy to play. I think mb94952 would love them since we’re cut from the same cloth of wanting to get the action and feel so easy that playing takes no almost no effort. The action is nice and low with no buzzing anywhere.

PeaveyPlayer, you should reach out to Andrew Drake about the neck that you need built. I can’t recommend his work highly enough.

You are awesome !!! I have always wanted to try the Lee Sklar mandolin frets. You're 100% right - Low action with minimal effort is the key ! Not for laziness (Ok about 5% laziness, 95% common sense coolness !)

I actually just bought the teal one. Very nice playing bass. I did have to resolder the grounding wire on the output jack as it had somehow become detached. Action is super low on it.

Awesome! Congrats! Sounds like you got a good deal and a nice bass. Nice to see it went to a TB'er.

So I got the Steath Palaedium back from Andrew Drake today. Wow, he does great work. The bass was bright red and the previous owner had done a hack fretless conversion.
Andrew patched up the ebony fingerboard, installed mandolin frets, and refinished the bass and headstock in a cool matte black.
He also added Luminlay side markers, a high-mass Klusson bridge, and a fingerboard ramp and truss rod cover made of Richlite.

At the end of the day, it wasn’t cheap, but it was still a bargain for a killer bass like this.

Sorry for the less than stellar pictures. This matte finish is hard to photograph with house lights.

One of the best looking stealth basses I've seen. I totally agree that stealth must be matte. Congrats!

Who knows? One day GC will enter the new millennium and start taking pictures not with toy cameras. But until that day... It has gold hardware that might indicate a Plus, replacement tuners (I don't think it ever came with those Gotohs) and the placement of the decal on the headstock (for what I can read) seems to suggest the base model.

I have called GC locations and asked guitar department guys to snap photos and text them to me. I've always told them that if I buy, I'll do it over the phone with them so they get the commission. They have always been happy to do so. I hope they never stop using toy cameras for their online listings. Prices will rise significantly if they do.

I saw it too early
