The original hardware is included in the sale.
I’m not going to change it back, but any future owner has that option.
Also, the Hipshot Kickass bridge on there is basically a copy of the original BAII bridge. (Only better in several ways.) It installed using the original screwholes, so it’s a quick swap for purists.
The hipshot has individual adjustable saddle inserts. My guitar tech set it up, and it’s perfect for me,
but there’s still a lot of adjustability available for custom spacings.

I tend to view carbon rods with suspicion .
Peavey were up front about their usage ; birds eye maple was too pliable , carbon rod fixed that.

Trouble is, once you use secondary stiffening for one unstable timber it opens the flood gates. Some of the Indonesian factories routinely add carbon rods as a precaution.

Funny thing ; while the Indonesians keep quiet about it , Fender list them as an added bonus in their specs :laugh:

Only difference between a Foundation neck and a Dynabass neck is the ebony board.

Same heel , same profile and same radius. As the necks came spitting out the machine, X went to the left for ebony and Y to the right for rosewood. Ebony got a blacken treatment so colourblind staff could tell which got what decal :thumbsup:

Palaedium has a different neck entirely , slimmer front to back and the almost flat 17" radius makes feel even slimmer.

Who knows? One day GC will enter the new millennium and start taking pictures not with toy cameras. But until that day... It has gold hardware that might indicate a Plus, replacement tuners (I don't think it ever came with those Gotohs) and the placement of the decal on the headstock (for what I can read) seems to suggest the base model.

A while back a GV would come up for sale occasionally. I see G basses for sale but it has been a while since I saw a GV for sale. I'm keeping mine.

Mine has a sunburst finish and the body wood looks to be alder. I don't know if that contributes to the tone but it is a wonderful sounding bass. It sounds similar to my Cirrus basses but has a voice of its own. The B string is a little more clear sounding on the Cirrus basses. The B is very good on the GV but not quite as clear sounding up the neck where the Cirrus basses are exceptional.

What do you think? Alder? Poplar? I don't think it is basswood.

According to the Peavey G-bass operating manual it states "solid basswood"

I have one. I don't think the bridge is a huge selling point over a regular one, personally, but it plays and sounds nice to me, although the neck is more P width than J width. I got mine for a song since it was a bit roughed up, but yeah, no complaints here really.

Um... technically, any wood used on the bass would classify as basswood

I've owned a few. They were the hidden pawnshop gems last year

I've never had a problem with a peavey bridge***, they're kind of set it and forget it... I strobe intonate once and they never need another tweek

***B-Quad Piezo bridges break and are parts are rare
