U.S. Peavey Club

Yep! Sky jump, I've adjusted the truss rod, the string height at the bridge, and changed the strings from rounds, to flats, and tape wounds. Right now I have minimal relief and the string height very high and it buzzes up a storm.

Zoinks. That's a bummer. I'd be inclined to clamp the frets and glue them down, then try to level it out with some counter-fall-away, but if you think that's probably not the ticket, then its probably not.

This is probably the one time I've heard of a bad Peavey bass neck. With 7ender, I expect it, but not with USA Peavey. It had to be neglected for years in a bad position by the person who owned it for the longest time in its history. I've NEVER had a problem with a USA Peavey neck. My $150 dollar '92 Fury has stupid low action with zero fret noise. It outplays EVERY Pbass there is.

Yes, Peavey necks are interchangeable for the most part, as far as I know. Send it to :

Can I ask what your setup is like right now? Typically that can occur from people having too curved a neck, and then lowering the saddles to try and compensate for the wrong problem. If your neck is flat in the center and the issues persist, its possible you have a ski jump where the neck meets the body, and the frets could possibly be leveled to help compensate the ramp, depending on its severity.

I came in to say what these fine gentlemen have already said.
Too much relief and a low action does not work.
Ski jump is very real with Peaveys (and Fenders and G&L) with the micro tilt. That feature gets abused and it causes issues that can usually only be fixed with some neck heel fret filing or a trip to warpedneck.com. I can vouch for warpedneck, they took my compound issue Dyna 5 neck (twist, ski jump and fall away at the nut) and made it factory straight. I was charged almost double for the treatment since it required two separate treatments, but it was the best $135 spent on that bass. It's perfect now.

I just received a Foundation 5 with SF pickups. The neck is probably going to need to be replaced as nothing seems to remove the string buzzing above the 12th fret. What are my chances of finding a replacement Foundation neck? Are most Peavey necks interchangeable? I was thinking if I cant find a Foundation I would try a Dyna of maybe a graphite.
Oh, and yes, the Foundy 5 neck should be fully interchangeable with a Dyna neck. However, consider warpedneck.com. He is a miracle worker and you get to keep your bass fully stock. The SF equipped Foundy 5 was short lived and relatively rare.

Apparently the seller doesn't realize the mirrored finish accentuates his bright green panties :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

That's not so bad. In the early days of ebay, a guy took a pick of his shiny kettle to list it. Pity he was buck naked and reflected in all his glory. The pic is easily found, but out of a sense of decorum, I resisted linking it.
Even if it was my dream bass for sale online , If seller has his/her bare feet in any pictures , I pass ! Please crop your feet outta the pics :roflmao:
Yeah, this photo makes me wonder... How did this seem OK? Is he using Reverb as a Tinder site? hahahaView attachment 4424942

Nice little pickup from ebay, not that I was in dire need of either, but those t-20 pickups aren’t something I see too often.

NICE, Jordan !!! I still think the Firebass 700 is THE BEST solid state amp out there. So warm and LOUD. Enough power to play a stadium, it seems. I don't know if there's a difference between the red or white face, but the fact that everything is on the front makes SO much sense. I'll never forget the time we played a big club show in 2010 and the soundman said my Firebass 700 was the EASIEST amp to work with. No flashlight needed to plug in the D.I. since it's on the front. I played it with my Cirrus that night and my tone was getting compliments all night !

Also, as far as neo cabs go, I find that GK, SWR, Mesa, and Bergantino sound the most ceramic to me. Good choice there !

I hope you make the video, Jordan. That would be nice to watch. Not too many Firebass 700 or Nitrobass videos out there. The Nitrobass is the younger sibling. Same amp, less power.

Ugh... That's why I said IDK who made it and I'm honestly tired of the debate. I don't care anymore !!! I changed the ad, but it's a moot point now.

We're just joking and I keep shaking my head at being at fault for starting this thing.

It's still funny that this came up when I posted a gloat thread about buying a Fleabass (no not the cartoon looking one)...
