can the millenium j neck pickup he used in bridge and neck? Or is it made for only neck

IIRC Peavey usually used the same wider length J style pickups on most models so 4 / 5 / 6 / neck / bridge pickups were interchangeable except for resistance and polarity.

This is the common rule for many J style pickup basses (nonFender style) from the mid 90's and later no matter the manufacturer. [There were some exceptions on some products like Squier or Bullet basses You will need to measure the particular bass to be certain.]

The seller has NO IDEA about instruments. He said the bass is missing a cord - I looked at the photo and to him a string is called a cord. This bass is TRASH. It looks like it's been sitting in 8 inches of water for about a year. He's asking $395 PLUS shipping. HAHA, yeah right. So. I politely emailed saying that he is WAY too ambitious on the price and asked if he's take $100 bucks. He said, "NO, keep searching" which I took as a brush off.

Am I wrong or rude for asking / stating the obvious ?

Anyway, so NBD. I was telling Rob (Thundar) I got a new to me Peavey T-20 FL. I've never owned a factory fretless from Peavey and this bass is pretty cool. The neck feels just like my Axcelerator, that Larry now owns. It is thin, fast, and accurate. I still LOVE my Ali Express fretless zebrawood fretless, but this is a USA Peavey ; Peavey USA RULES.
By the way, this bass was in near PERFECT condition.
Based on the serial number lookup it is a 1983. My first year in high school !

That is what I usually find, too. Fender keeps using the different length pickups. I wasn't sure about Peavey, as all of mine have Super Ferrites except the Forum Plus P/J with just the bridge location J pickup.

I messaged too. I did not make an offer, but politely explained why the bass was over priced, and said that I'd be watching for a drastic price reduction. I did not solicitit a response, nor have I received one.

I looked at his other listings and this guy is overpriced on EVERYTHING. I give him credit for trying, but $150 for a Journey CD, $200 for a Mustang Hot Wheels, which is worth about $5 at most, and so on. There's a sucker born every minute and he's trying to get that one, but it ain't us. (I never use that word !)

That looks awesome, Jordan ! I love those decals. I have a bunch of different ones, too just for when the right bass comes along. I like the burnt orange and the dinky body.
