U.S. Peavey Club

So I found myself without a US made Peavey bass (I still have two US made Peavey guitars) and then I was cruising the Facebook marketplace and came across this gem. My very first base was an 88 Fury so needless to say I was very intrigued. It's a '91 and was originally blue, and I don't have a pickguard for it at the time, but I set it up with some flats and it sounds magnificent. Forgive the very crude control plate but it works and made use of a scrap of strat pickguard. This is the 10th US made Peavey bass that I've owned.

I will do a full new bass day once I have decided on and purchase a pickguard. What's funny is I believe the white pickguard that was originally on my 1988 is somewhere in my house. With that in mind I think I'm going to go for a black one and leave the crazy paint job that the previous owner did.

I love that Salmon color and I love how the Fury has been getting so much attention in the last week, well deserving, as well !

Looks fine to me. The same decal is on my Forum P/J. Check to see how much a pickguard will cost you before making a deal.

I have the exact same bass. That's the final USA Peavey headstock design for Fury's. Probably 1991 or later. It is the one piece neck with board, not the previous 2 piece neck. These are great players if the neck has not been over adjusted or messed with. I love mine, my main practice bass and I play it every day.

For any that are interested, I got a quote from Chandler (pickkguard planet) for $54 shipped for a WBW or BWB pickguard. I'm still waiting to hear from Peavey (doubtful that they have it) or pickguardian, I'm going BWB.

Speaking of caps, the ones I ordered with the help of PeaveyPlayer arrived. So, my G Bass is off to the luthier. (There's no way I'm taking a chance on messing that up before I have a lot more practice.) It's also getting Graphtech Ghost Piezo Saddles, with their own output. And I picked up a G Bass neck from Amber that will be defretted or get an ebony fingerboard, so I can swap necks if I want to change up.

Sounds like a good plan. Are you using the Ghost buffer?
I'm putting a Ghost-loaded Hipshot A-style bridge on my Cirrus project (it's kinda stalled out while I screw around with buffer options)

I'm using a Red-Eye outboard preamp. I have a 2005 StingRay that has the stock piezo saddles, and when I had it converted to stereo, I got the Red-Eye. It's a great preamp as long as you don't mind it being outboard. Got one in mint condition on the Verb for $130

I bought the Bartolini MPB2-918 and it does well by itself, but doesnt play with the magnetic pickups blended in as well as I would like it to. They came out with a newer version, AGMPB-918, but I havent pulled the trigger with it partially for financial reasons. I've been working with Passingwind Electronics to get something similar worked up. I want to toss one of his 3-band preamps in there also in place of the stock one. Just to try. For Science!
