U.S. Peavey Club

That Claro Walnut though....
Haha, Yes The quilted maple i just got is cool, but that Claro is something special. I dont use flatwounds on the fretless and it sounds so great.

i just realized plugging in my new six string though, just how much more tonality i get with the mid-sweep. Id love to drop one in the fretless but they seem to be hard to come by (unless you know a guy who knows a guy…)

Not me but my animosity towards 2nd/3rd gen Furys needs no repeating
I like my Gen 2 in '62 Custom Blue with a Geezer P pickup in it, with black Schallers and black bridge.
I also like my Gen 3 in white with a Geezer as well.
....but I admit to favoring my ash Gen 1, the slant SF pickup is pretty special.

Why animosity toward 2nd/3rd Gen Furys? ...repeat away.

No problem.

1st thing is the pickup. Like yourself I prefer an older , more mellow sound , alnico gets me there better than the stock ceramic.
2nd is the neck. I don't care for the stock skinny neck Peavey used on many of their basses. Give me a club every time.

Remove both of those and there's not much left apart from a bit of poplar and a BBOT bridge. Hardly enough to get excited about.

The 1st gen gets points for a thicker neck.

I use rounds on my fretless too. Both my fretless basses are lined as I prefer. To each his own.[
Someday, I too will join the cirrus club… someday…

I wish you the best of luck on your search! While not as many of them pop up as they used to (and the price is climbing sadly) there are so so many cool wood & color configurations. As I said in my post earlier today, I tried the pre-amp with the sweepable mids. I did not know my favorite tone could get any better.

if you see one you like at a fair price pull the trigger if you can. Odds are you won’t lose any money if you wanted to sell it.

It's mirrored from GC's website. I haven't heard of that model. Is it USA?

Yep, they don't get a lot of love. I slapped some Geezers in mine, it's got a really nice neck! The raspberry pearl (aka sparkly pink) definitely turns some heads (for better or worse...)
