U.S. Peavey Club

Anybody ever mod their pickup covers on the cirrus? I would like to possibly craft some wood ones to replace the plastic. Will the sound be impacted? Any advice?
This is my old '99 Cirrus. I had tried MM, J, Cirrus pups and needed a cover to hide all the routing. As you can see, I tried all the combinations only to come full circle and realize maybe Peavey already did what I did hence the final design. I thought the JJ Cirrus was the most useful, and the MM Cirrus was too dark sounding. No sizzle. The "JC" as I called it was also pretty cool. Jazz / Cirrus .

Not too far off of what I had planned for mine.

Actual progress. I'm dragging my feet with the routing process until I get a little better at the corners.

Do any of you knowledgeable folks have any insight into the approximate production year of my newly acquired Cirrus 6? Headstock has the HP cursive signature and graphite overlay. Serial number is 51519238. Just curious mostly...View attachment 4482538
It's most likely a 2007 or later. Is it that Maple top model?
You can also email Peavey customer service with the serial number, they can tell you a ship date.
