Is it the original preamp!
go inside look for dip switches
turn on them up with a pencil to
1234567 and give that a try
That's correct , no dip switches inside the TL-5 gen 2.
Mid frequency range is altered by the outer ring.

I bought a vanity all black fury with a bowed neck (as a gamble)... first time getting one steamed -- worked.
Local repair shop pulled it off.

I came across a USA Patriot, a USA B-90 and a USA Foundation S and am just wondering what some of these are compared to the Peavey's I already have?
The USA Patriot is simple enough to figure out, but it is the other 2 that have me stumped.
Where do they fit in compared to my early 80's T-40, T-45, T-20, Fury and Foundation?
Oh, @kodiakblair ...you out there somewhere?
I'd appreciate some good 'ol TB knowledge sharing.

Also, the B-90 bridge is not stock, pickups are not stock.

I agree with 58kites, go with the Patriot first, for it's unique to everything you already have. The pickup is nudged a touch closer to the bridge compared to a SF T20. It has a cool punch to it. Plus, that Patriot has the wider nut, which I don't see many, most seem to have the narrow nut. That will make it feel more similar to your 40, 45 & 20.Howdy Y'all!

Then the Foundation S. However, it's sort of tonally covered by the Fury (I assume split coil version) and Foundation.
THe B90 is not as nice as the Foundation S, I would get the S over it any day.
My Fury is an early Fury much like a T-20 with single angled super ferrite pup with thumb notch.

Have fun with that! The Cirrus/TL Gen 2 is a royal pain with that idiotic circuit board blocking everything. They're great preamps, just really stupid design for the cavity, because you have to take the whole thing out, and not easily just tinker with a problematic pot right within reach (like basically every other preamp in existence).
Not strictly true , unlike later Furys/Foundations, the B-90s were discontinued before Peavey started importing necks/bodies.
They were produced on the exact same machines worked by the same button pushers as every other US Peavey .
Quality of parts varies. Patriots and B-90s both had the basic BBOT bridge seen on most Peaveys , early Foundation-S got the old Foundation trapezoid bridge/ later builds also got the BBOT . B-90s got pretty average tuners , Patriots had decent tuners , Foundation-S had Schallers.
Pickups is where the basses differ greatly. B-90s got some run of the mill ceramic PJs , Patriots used existing Ferrites. For the Foundation-S ; Hartley had Schaller re-engineer the classic DiMarzio DP 122 & 123.
