I liked Headbangers Ball and 120 minutes equally. They both played the stuff that you wouldn't really find in rotation during the peak hours of MTV, as they were late night slots in the programming.
Being pre internet, it really did come down to just tuning into those shows to get/see the videos. I didn't care to buy the VHS from those artists, I already owned the records from the artists found on those shows. Thank you timer recordings on the VHS machine, you gave me my personal archive! I remember it wasn't all Hair Metal on Headbangers Ball, I remember seeing Accept, Megadeth, etc... The Hair videos (Poison, Warrant) were played during the regular rotation.
Can't say that I watched Alternative Nation. Seemingly, those videos were the mainstream videos on MTV at the time, anyway. Wasn't that a daytime/primetime show?
I also really liked that 91-97 era of popular rock/grunge/etc... As far as I'm concerned, that was the last era of pop radio music that was really good, mostly real, using producers that knew how to get some great takes, etc... Those popular songs came from albums that had more tracks that were cool, and you did get some stinker tracks as well.
The 21st Century seems to have brought back a 50s/early 60s era of the single. Yay.

I remember back in the day all Saturday shows would take break at midnight for the beginning of Headbangers Ball.Headbangers Ball was WAY cooler than Alternative Nation. "Peace Sells" intro was the sheezda back then. Still love that tune. Although, there are still some of those early Alt videos that make me laugh and cringe at the same time.

Yes, but Pau Ferro isnt usually as dark, has more of an orange tint to it. Every piece is different....

I still watch it, best filmed music show IMO as they don't jump around with the camera too much.
I think there's a Jerry Reed episode where they're playing Peavey's a couple few 60s and a 40 IIRC. The SRVs are my favorites too, and anything with brother Jimmie is killer. The episode with Lukes Nelson is really good, no Peaveys though...Lol There's a lot, ACL is awesome...

I submit an honorable mention for the Nine Inch Nails episode with Pino.
I "cut the cable" a couple years ago, so no ACL for me anymore.
Most of all I miss Later With Jools Holland. If I could buy all the 300+ episodes, I would. Alas, I don't think that's possible, and if it is it would cost a small fortune.
Later With Jools Holland is the best music show I’ve ever watched. Always an eclectic mix of artists many of which I discovered, and ended up becoming fans of, due to the program.

I've got a 90s US Foundation, and the bridge seems misaligned with the neck. I'm sorting it out, but my real question here is the pickups- I don't like them and want to swap them out. I've got an old pair of Bach p'ups from one of their T birds and thought I'd swap them out.
Any thoughts? I want it to be a player, it's a nice one actually- no frills, simple substance. The sound just seems weak, and I don't want to get into preamps and batteries... I'm after a good simple player here, no extras.

You young fellas wouldn't probably remember Midnight Special so I forgive ya for not knowing about it. Everybody who was everybody was on there in the 70's. Take a look at the wikipedia link to see who played on the show. I like the shows you guys mention as well but it will never top Midnight Special for me.
