Polished frets kinda
Fret oil from music nomad

30 somthing year old bass strings Featuring dust

toothpaste to polish back of neck and headstock… after working on my g shock and Casio watches I discovered whitening tooth paste to be an excellent polish for crystals such as mineral and sapphire

tried on my headstock and back of neck and did wonders!

Don't forget Don Kirshner's Rock Concert also. 1974 saw Rush on there for the first time. Things were never the same for me again.

Unfortunately the strings seem short and the silk sits inside the nut…


But holy these strings sound very growly low mid and crisp with a slight dip in the high mid

but they feel actually very supple!
Very like the Dunlop Marcus Miller super bright

I use Marcus and the nickels back and fourth
Nickels have a nice growl overall balanced sound soft. Supple and flexible

the Marcus are similar to these peavey in that they have a girthy bottom growl and dip in the high mid but more sizzle

I also really like the SIT Rock bass stainless and nickel versions Similar to flex steels



I find it easier to eq bright to Dark then the other way
Or piano like to a mud wall

Yeah great series..I bought the 9 dvd disc collection when they advertised it years ago on Aussie early morning infomercials loll...but wait there's more...lol

You dont happen to have a photo of the string tree do you? My GV neck didnt come with one and I have to make one.

I have nickel DR Lo-Riders on my GV. They sound soooooo good.

Yeah, the T60 is about the same as a standard guitar humbucker. The T40 is bigger.
Stonewall has a replacement for the T40 style pickup. I too haven't tried nor heard one. They are expensive, but I'm sure they sound pretty good. I mean, why go to the trouble otherwise? :) They do look great.
Chip Todd mentioned that he would love to go back and revoice the T40/T45 pickups for a wider bandwith. He mentioned in an interview that the T60 pickup sounded better on the bass, but didn't have the proper width to cover the bass string aperture.

I BET you could be open to changing your opinion. I felt the same, and put half rounds on my Fury, and I instantly got the Jamerson tone. OK, half rounds are half measures, but it's a start. :)
