U.S. Peavey Club

In the 80s, when I started bassin' around, I was a round wound only guy. This was until I noticed that the Rotosound Swing bass strings I used on my only bass were really starting to dig into the frets. I then switched up to the Solo bass pressure wounds and significantly slowed the process.
With time, I acquired more basses and spread the wear and tear around. Went back to various round wounds on most of them. However, there comes a time you just gotta have a P bass with flats for 'that' sound. Did it, loved it. Then got a Foundation for my 'J with flats' bass.
If you keep the flats fresh, they are quite bright and zingy, however, I'm not Steve Harris and keep the flats on my basses old and thumpy. The exception is the flats on my fretless, I keep them new and 'mwah' friendly. I do have a set of ground wounds that I may install on a bass. They do have a cool feel.

Yeah what's up with this?
