Very interesting. I have a friend with a doctorate in Electrical Engineering....designs and makes his own amps and pedals and can fix pretty much anything electronic. I have thought about the same thing, seeing if he can copy the Millennium pre. It would be a lot of work and I'm not sure what the market would be beyond this group.

I'm SURE @Thundar agrees with you on EMG,
and a tribute Millennium pre sounds like a winner, and we want sound clips.
Mark Garza "Garz Guitars" is the man to do custom work for you.
Mark Garza has built me a few basses and he did @Thundar 's Cirrus converting to a fretless, and he is the custom shop guy for Lightwave Basses. Mark is THE coolest, laid back, mellow, modest builder out there. And he's FAST. No two year waiting list.
I bet if your buddy made Millennium tributes they would sell. Yes, this group would eat them up, and once word got out it would spread. Look at the SIRE club. We are fanatics, and those are basically Millennium preamps with the added active/passive toggle. Again, in MY opinion, SIRE has the BEST preamp on any production bass right now that is affordable.
@Bassinthemudd , I have found that players with some of the most high end basses in their collection also have a Peavey somewhere in that equation.

Who here has the most Peavey basses in their collection?
I think it's probably kodiakblair, but Bleeker, BassickLee, Runnerman, and few others may have more than I suspect.
Mech had quite a few but I'm not sure what exactly became of his awesome collection.
At this point, I only have five Peavey basses and one is not really a full Peavey anymore so I am low in the ranking.

I've got 12 or 13, hard to recall everyone when so many are in their cases haha
If you're reffering to my Lobes as high end, they will definitely accept the compliment. But, they were $300 new (and I think still are.) Much work was put into modding each.
Well, they look like 10x that amount. Anyway, you get the point.

I’m somewhere in the low 40s for Peavey basses. Add another twenty or so assorted other brands
I have 4 Peaveys (3 USA Millenniums - a 4, a 5 and the unfortunately named STD, and a T-40) but I own only 2 non-Peaveys, 1 that I am planning to sell and 1 that is on a long-term loan to my son.
Now? 2 GLennium. + truly custom shop millenium
