I just saw the prettiest G-Bass I've ever seen..

That's the one John Diggins' grandson Toby refinished last April.

John owns Jaydee Guitars, Toby was freelance but got their fancy finish work

Anyway back to the gorgeous G-bass, I remember it well.
Fella took a horrendous hit, it sold on eBay for £300 odds ; doubt that covered more than the refin money.

Previously? There was a time that I owned over 300 of them (they were touring inventory)... not the same as colllecting

Well, when I saw it go past $300 I was out. I figured with shipping, STUPID tax, etc it would come close to $500 and that's just way out of my budget for a "something to have because it's cool" bass.

But, BOY was that a CLEAN bass.

I've had a number of Peaveys come and go, G Bass, Foundation, Axcellerator, late Gen 3 Fury, Foundation S.
I love Super Ferrites, and one pickup passive Peaveys are the ones I tend to keep.
I end up not buying the higher end Peaveys.

PeaveyBird (Gen 3 Fury with a Thunderbird pickup in place of the split P)

I only have three. 2 USA Millennium 5ers and a super ferrite Foundation 5. The foundy does not see much playing time but I totally dig the sound of the sf pups. (it may eventually go on the block) Both Milly's are played daily and the pau ferro one has been my #1 gig bass for over 20 years.

Over the years I had a beautiful blood red/rosewood series 2 T40 that went bye-bye when the former wife had declared only two basses at a time (there’s a reason she was a former wife), a holoflake G-Bass and one of the U.S. Millennium Plus JJs that MF was clearing out for, gulp, $275–new, with factory hard case. Also a natural/rosewood original Foundation that was a victim of the aforementioned two bass policy no longer in effect.
My current forever wife is just the opposite—she delights in surprising me with new basses, bless her heart!

You guys are making me miss all of the ones that got away (10 in total). I'm down to a single '88 Fury (that I absolutely adore) it's also my only 4 string, and my only P bass.

Sitting here watching the WS my best count is 25 Peavey basses...T40 T45 T20 RJIV VoidIV Dyna Milestone 1st Gen Fury(2) 2nd Gen Fury(2) Patriot(6) Foundation(8).

That's out of 54 to include one aluminum upright, one Guild ABG and only one 5 strings EBMM.

So...where do I stand?

Looks like BassickLee is top dog with 40+.
That means kodiakblair (who I thought was the king) still ranks high with 28 and also because we've seen pics of a couple rooms full of Peaveys before the thinning of the herd.
Bleecker is right where I thought he would be at 25, ...that's a lot of Peavey basses.
Mech (Ronnie Goss) still holds some ranking because he used to have a pretty sizable pile of Peaveys.
Some of you guys that have a quiver of high end Peaveys get extra points for the fact that yours are super fancy.
MnAirHead is a Peavey bass legend because over 300 Peavey basses is a number I can't even get my head around.
I like bigtone23 because he makes custom shop Peaveys and makes Peaveys out of non Peavey basses too!
