I have a magnetic cover on one of my basses. It's very easy to do.
On the SIRE club a guy there has THE coolest magnet mod. He cut the screws off with a Dremel just to leave some on the bottom side and it still looks like it has screws. He put four little magnets below each screw.
Elegant, simple. I know it's a different style altogether, but it might spark an idea.

Anyone know for certain what bridge hipshot supplied on USA millenniums? 5 strings. I measured 17mm just eye balling the center of one saddle to another, but there is also a 17.5mm, which could be right also. I want the exact same as what I have, just gold

My Millennium bridge measures 17.0mm. I measured from height screw to height screw since the saddles can be moved.

The Hipshot USA bridges are nicer than the 'Peavey Hipshot' bridges, but the Peavey bridges are nice. Have you checked with Amber for a Peavey bridge?

Peavey never used a gold bridge from hipshot. So I’ll just grab a USA hipshot and some gold tuners to match. I have a rare pearl black mill 5 with figured maple neck and black headstock, and think it would look great with the gold.

My Millennium bridge measures 17.0mm. I measured from height screw to height screw since the saddles can be moved.

Try measuring from G string height screw to B string height screw, then dividing by 4.

I just measured a Millennium bridge and got .687" or 17.5 mm.

I was asking if the stock ring and cover had actually been replaced with another design of battery box on those basses and what was entailed. Mostly out of curiosity.

Our sorely missed brother Mech would ignore the battery box completely, he'd just re-locate the battery clip to inside the control cavity.

A fine example of the old ways working every bit as good as the new.

Working on it. It cost me a fortune. Found it up in Canada. Was in with a bunch of prototypes and artist returns the store bought from the peavey auction. I literally have been dreaming of this exact bass for 20 years. And there it was. Only 2k and a country away.

Ok, this will have to do. Sorry you can't see them so well. But ONE of these is going to have gold hardware like my Cirrus' used to have. I played only Cirrus for many many years, using my one single Mill 5 when I needed the low B. Then one day I realized, I actually feel better and play better with the Millenniums. So years ago I sold all my Cirrus and started buying Mill 5s. Maple necks preferrably. I've been through a dozen, but the two I kept were the first one on the left, and the black with naked headstock. That was actually sparkly red when I got it, but wanted a black/maple Mill 5 so bad I had it professionally painted gloss black. But deep down, I always wanted a real official black/maple. Not realizing they ever made any. Just a random google search one day showed that black/black (pearl black actually) with maple. NOS. With case. Up in Kamloops BC. Called the shop, talked to the guy about it, and he shipped it down here. It has, without a doubt, the LOWEST factory action I have ever seen. I mean it's low. No shims in the neck, just ridiculously low. I've kept it that way since I get zero fret buzz at all. But, if you notice, it came with the gotoh tuners like the Cirrus. So I already bought a set of hipshot usa blacks to replace them. But it got me thinking how nice would one of those basses be with gold hardware. Not sure which one quite yet. If you look closely I replaced the saddle bridges with black ones on that foremost bass. Thought I would love all black, but I actually don't like it that much. Go figure. So there you go. There's room for one more though. I'd like one of those dark red transparent/maple version again. Had one, sold it. My holy grail is this one that was on Reverb for years. Misty silver/goldish color, matching head/body with figured maple neck. Guy wanted $1k back when they were going for $600-700. Eventually it disappeared. That's the one I would like to finish off my collection. Carry on...

Oh, I bought a maple neck with what I thought was a nice matching headstock for that one bass in front. But it's not quite the same color as the body. It's close, might actually look good, but am going to list it here shortly. There. That's my complete Millennium collection. LOL.

1987 Peavey Fury - let's call her "LPP$F" for now

Mods To Be Executed:

• Replace stock neck with 32" scale dark Indian rosewood neck with matching dark Indian rosewood fingerboard Warmoth Warhead neck
• Black Hipshot Ultralite tuners
• Black Hipshot Kickass bridge
• Reversed Lane Poor P pickup and a Legacy Lane Poor MM pickup in roughly the 70s Jazz position (bottom coil) and 60s Jazz position (top coil) - hence the tentative nickname LPP$F (Lane Poor Precision/Humbucker Fury)
• Matte black pickguard

1994 Peavey RSB Koa - let's just call this "RSB" for now

Mods To Be Executed:

• Replace stock neck with custom 32" scale 24 fret neck...working with Garz Guitars to figure this one out.

Other Possible Mods:

• Gold Hipshot Ultralite tuners
• Gold Hipshot Kickass bridge (is the stock bridge good enough to keep?)
• Install a Darkglass Tone Capsule or Aguilar OBP3 preamp (I am open to suggestions) - keeping the stock active VFL pickups

1987 Peavey Foundation - "Sedona Lee"

Mods Already Executed:

• Replace stock neck with 32" scale goncalo alves neck with matching goncalo alves fingerboard Warmoth Warhead neck

Mods To Be Executed:

• Touch up oil finish on the mahogany body
• Shield control cavity
• Install parallel/series switch

1993 Peavey Fury - "Stormbringer"

Mods To Be Executed:

• Replace stock neck with 32" scale Warmoth neck (woods TBD - probably padouk neck with ebony fretboard and red basin jasper dot inlays) with a matte black headstock
• Black Hipshot Ultralite tuners
• Black Hipshot Kickass bridge
• Route body for, shield cavity, and install two G&L MFD pickups in the tradition L2000 positions wired with pickup selector switch, Parallel/Single Coil/OMG switch with volume and passive bass and treble controls (no active circuit, so no need for the active passive switch)
• Matte black body refinish
• Cut and install a custom Black/Red/Black 3-ply pickguard that will be etched with red runes like the ones on the sword, Stormbringer, on the covers of Michael Moorcock's Elric saga (with the cover art by Robert Gould)
  
• Install black and red speed knobs

1984 Peavey Patriot - "RiotBurner"

Mods To Be Executed:

• Install 32" scale wenge neck with ebony fretboard (with ash headstock veneer) Warmoth Warhead neck
• Chrome Hipshot Ultralite tuners
• Chrome Hipshot Kickass bridge
• Route the body for a Super Ferrite in the 24th fret neck position (I'm going to RicRiot this one @bigtone23!), a route in the Patriot/Ric bridge position for a Dingwall FD3N pickup and a route in the roughly 70s Jazz bridge position that I have on my Sedona Lee Foundation for another Dingwall FD3N pickup
• Route the body further up towards the lower horn for a Freeway 6-way selector switch (like I have on my 32" scale Lowe-necked "Cosmic Turnaround" P-style bass - thanks @BeeTL!)
  
• Shield the cavities
• Cut and install a custom vintage red tort pickguard (I was inspired greatly by @vinnydbass and his John Wetton Tribute P-Bass Build)
• Install pickups, parallel/series switches for each Dingwall pickup, vol-vol-vol-tone setup, 6 way neck, middle, bridge, neck-middle, middle-bridge, neck-bridge switching
• Install silver electronics/speed style knobs like the Wetton tribute P build

1992 Peavey Fury - "Cthulu"

Mods To Be Executed:

• Replace stock neck with 32" scale Warmoth neck (woods TBD - probably a goncalo alves neck with ebony fretboard) with a painted headstock to match the body
• Black Hipshot Ultralite tuners
• Black Hipshot Kickass bridge
• Route the body for a Super Ferrite in the 24th fret neck position (RicRiot strikes again!), a route in the Patriot/Ric bridge position for a Peavey T40 humbucker pickup (again, you inspire me with your mods @bigtone23) and a route in the roughly 70s Jazz bridge position that I have on my Sedona Lee Foundation for another Super Ferrite pickup
• Route the body further up towards the lower horn for a Freeway 6-way selector switch
• Have my good friend Andy paint the body and headstock in a gloomy/doomy H.R. Giger-ish, H.P. Lovecraft inspired way
• Shield the cavities
• Cut and install a custom pickguard (which Andy will also paint)
• Install pickups, some sort of mode switch for the T40 pickup, vol-vol-vol-tone setup, 6 way neck, middle, bridge, neck-middle, middle-bridge, neck-bridge switching
• Install speed style knobs
