Oh dear.

It's a 4mm hex socket. Trouble is that hex socket is normally welded to the TR.

You'll need to remove the TR nut plug, the bored out dowel, then see if you can unscrew the hex socket and replace it.
Keep in mind by late 90's Peavey were using mostly imported hardware so you're looking at buying metric.

If the TR nut has been welded I'm afraid you're popping the fretboard off to replace the nut.

The cell phone mix leaves a bit to be desired, and this band broke up due to their singer not crediting/paying multiple artists and apparently having some real ego issues. All that is some real bs, but hey, they're using a patriot in this live video! There's more peavey representation in the diy/emo scene than I ever really expected before I got into it. Lots of t40s and t60s especially.

I'm finally in the club! A used Fury arrived today. Played it for 2 mins and LOVE it. First time laying my hands on any Peavey bass. The neck is noiceeee! Sounds huge and fat. For reference, i m G&L and Yamaha guy

Welcome @jastraw! That is a beautiful Fury you got there! My first bass I ever bought was a white Fury with white pickguard and maple neck from the same year. I put in a Schaller P pickup (my first ever soldering), then (stupidly in retrospect) tore the frets out of the neck, did a hack job on the epoxy then gave the body to my nephew (who promptly put another Fury neck on it, refinished it in ducktape and played it, awesomely, in his hard-core band for years).

It is one of two basses I would love to have back intact. As such, I now have three Furies. I just love the feel of them against my body and they sound great...such amazing basses for the money (even though they aren't as cheap as they once were).

1993 Peavey Fury - "Stormbringer"

Mods To Be Executed:

• Replace stock neck with 32" scale Warmoth neck (woods TBD - probably padouk neck with ebony fretboard and red basin jasper dot inlays) with a matte black headstock
• Black Hipshot Ultralite tuners
• Black Hipshot Kickass bridge
• Route body for, shield cavity, and install two G&L MFD pickups in the tradition L2000 positions wired with pickup selector switch, Parallel/Single Coil/OMG switch with volume and passive bass and treble controls (no active circuit, so no need for the active passive switch)
• Matte black body refinish
• Cut and install a custom Black/Red/Black 3-ply pickguard that will be etched with red runes like the ones on the sword, Stormbringer, on the covers of Michael Moorcock's Elric saga (with the cover art by Robert Gould)View attachment 4863423
• Install black and red speed knobs

• Install 32" scale wenge neck with ebony fretboard (with ash headstock veneer) Warmoth Warhead neck
• Chrome Hipshot Ultralite tuners
• Chrome Hipshot Kickass bridge
• Route the body for a Super Ferrite in the 24th fret neck position (I'm going to RicRiot this one @bigtone23!), a route in the Patriot/Ric bridge position for a Dingwall FD3N pickup and a route in the roughly 70s Jazz bridge position that I have on my Sedona Lee Foundation for another Dingwall FD3N pickup
• Route the body further up towards the lower horn for a Freeway 6-way selector switch (like I have on my 32" scale Lowe-necked "Cosmic Turnaround" P-style bass - thanks @BeeTL!)View attachment 4863371
• Shield the cavities
• Cut and install a custom vintage red tort pickguard (I was inspired greatly by @vinnydbass and his John Wetton Tribute P-Bass Build)
• Install pickups, parallel/series switches for each Dingwall pickup, vol-vol-vol-tone setup, 6 way neck, middle, bridge, neck-middle, middle-bridge, neck-bridge switching
• Install silver electronics/speed style knobs like the Wetton tribute P build

1992 Peavey Fury - "Cthulu"

• Black Hipshot Ultralite tuners
• Black Hipshot Kickass bridge
• Route the body for a Super Ferrite in the 24th fret neck position (RicRiot strikes again!), a route in the Patriot/Ric bridge position for a Peavey T40 humbucker pickup (again, you inspire me with your mods @bigtone23) and a route in the roughly 70s Jazz bridge position that I have on my Sedona Lee Foundation for another Super Ferrite pickup
• Route the body further up towards the lower horn for a Freeway 6-way selector switch
• Have my good friend Andy paint the body and headstock in a gloomy/doomy H.R. Giger-ish, H.P. Lovecraft inspired way
• Shield the cavities
• Cut and install a custom pickguard (which Andy will also paint)
• Install pickups, some sort of mode switch for the T40 pickup, vol-vol-vol-tone setup, 6 way neck, middle, bridge, neck-middle, middle-bridge, neck-bridge switching
• Install speed style knobs

That's a very detailed list. Sounds like you know EXACTLY what you want. Is that "Stormbringer" from Lanis Collins ? I've only seen that name once before.

My Millennium bridge measures 17.0mm. I measured from height screw to height screw since the saddles can be moved.

The Hipshot USA bridges are nicer than the 'Peavey Hipshot' bridges, but the Peavey bridges are nice. Have you checked with Amber for a Peavey bridge?

Thanks! The Fury Performed beautifully at first gig last night. It’s a joy to play. The sound guy said it’s easy to dial in, sounded great and sat in mix nicely. Band mates all dug it.

I am definitely particular and about the details, for sure Stormbringer is the name of the (evil...souldrinking...) sword used by the title character Elric in Michael Moorcock's Saga of Elric (it's a sci-fi pulp series from the 60s/70s). I'm also a nerd

GC Used has two nice basses that caught my attention. Both have the older "hand script" logo. Foundation , and Fury. One of THE nicest overall Fury's I've seen. Natural looks like ash ? Not sure...

Unlikely.

In 83 Peavey moved to Hackberry in place of Ash. Mike Powers even went as far as to claim Hackberry was a form of 'swamp Ash', total BS it's not even in the same Genus. Benefits of using Hackberry, aside from it appearing very similar to Ash , were price,availability and ease of working.

I guess that's Peavey humor for the nerd of Peavey nerds I didn't notice.

I had a chance to get an Ash slant Fury from a pawn shop for $75. Didn't want to piss the wife off, stupid stupid stupid! Better to ask for forgiveness than permission!

I gave some co workers a piece of maple that I had milled from a neighbors tree that fell and had them do this to it. It turned out pretty nice, not as pointy as I was hoping.
